H
igh school is intense enough without the prospect of becoming a fashion victim by paying full price for popular clothing items like frayed jeans with holes in them. Final Sale, a designer sample store where everything is discounted from 50 to 80 percent, takes the stress out of shopping (and paying for) distressed jeans and other high-end clothing. “This store is a wardrobe building place,” said Rose Milazzo, store manager of Marcus Lemonis Fashion Group. “For example, you can buy a jacket, top, necklace and burgundy jeans for a great back-to-school outfit for about $100. After 20 years at McDonald’s, iconic mural finds new home n anonymous donor has come to the rescue of an original Mark McMahon mural that earlier this summer seemed to be headed for demise. The mural, which depicts wellknown scenes in Lake Forest, wraps around the dining room at the McDonald’s on Waukegan Road. When Chase Bank made plans to demolish the eatery to build a new branch in its place earlier in the summer, there was no provision to preser ve the mural, which McMahon created for the restaurant when it opened 20 years ago. The restaurant is scheduled to close this month. But less than a week after a story was published August 6 in DailyNorthShore reporting the likelihood the mural would come down with the building, an anonymous donor agreed to defray the moving cost.
