A

citizens group formed to support a referendum for a new Maple School serving students in Northbrook and Glenview is gearing up its campaign. Voters in Northbrook Glenview School District 30 will decide April 4 whether the district can issue $36.3 million worth of facilities bonds to rebuild Maple and finish lifesafety improvements at Willowbrook and Wescott Elementary Schools. If approved, the district plans to spend $41.5 million to erect the new building, demolish the old structure and make required life-safety improvements to Wescott and Willowbrook, according to Superintendent Brian Wegley. He said the bonds totaling $36.3 million will pay for the bulk of the project. The remaining

elanie Macwan knew she wanted to be an entrepreneur when she signed up for the business incubator class at Glenbrook South High School. Macwan did not know she would be the only female in the class of 24. “It kind of empowered me in a way,” said Macwan. “I needed to show the boys I am serious about this because I’m the only girl in the class.” Though Macwan will be away at college this fall studying business and entrepreneurship, it appears next year’s business incubator class will be more
