Updated: May 2012
Suncor is now mining volumes from the North Steepbank Extension. The company expects that its Millennium Naphtha Unit (MNU) project will be fully operational by mid-year. In April, Suncor announced its upgrader had successfully returned to normal operations following a brief shutdown due to a fractionated performance issue. Suncor has started commissioning assets associated with its tailings reduction operations infrastructure project and anticipates to start using these assets during Q2.
AOSC says the updated contingent resources on its Birch holdings total 1.9 billion barrels. The company plans to submit its Birch regulatory application in late 2012 based on additional drilling and 3-D seismic.
