Suncor is now mining volumes from the North Steepbank Extension. The company expects that its Millennium Naphtha Unit (MNU) project will be fully operational by mid-year. In April, Suncor announced its upgrader had successfully returned to normal operations following a brief shutdown due to a fractionated performance issue. Suncor has started commissioning assets associated with its tailings reduction operations infrastructure project and anticipates to start using these assets during Q2.
