BRIEF

The aim of the project is to design a house which provides both “live” and “work” space. The idea behind the project is to make a load bearing masonry house that not only has pleasant exterior view but also practical interior space - it has to integrate with the surrounding context and provide appropriate living space within a narrow site with a ÁRRU DUHD OLPLW RI P . 7KH FOLHQW FRXSOHV ZLVK WR OLYH LQ D PRGHUQ KRXVH ZKLFK HQFDSVXODWHV D FHUWDLQ W\SH RI VW FHQWXU\ OLYLQJ DQ LGHDO WR VWULYH towards a simpler life devoid of the distractions of the modern age, but heightened by the quality of the materials and space. Due to an exisiting planning permission on the site, the design proposal has to be done in 6 weeks time.

CONCEPT 21 st CENT U RY L I V I N G The essence of 21st century architecture is encapsulated in a building when traditional material meets contemporary form, exterior integrates with interior, living intersects working.

FORM & MAT E RI AL Brick is the main material of the building, alongside with timber and glass makes up a contemporary form with aggressive corners and tilting walls.

L I V E & WO R K A fusion between living and working space is to be achieved. 50m2 is dedicated to web designer’s studio workspace. Other spaces as balcony provides space for outdoor sketching or sunbathing, kitchen for both preparation of daily meal or experiment of new bakery product.
