YOGA FOR SLEEP

If you’ve grown tired of endless hours of puzzles, reading, watching movies and series and playing board games, perhaps Lockdown could be the ideal time for you to spend on something more beneficial to body, mind and soul. Here are some ideas to consider...

Gardening is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, get fresh air (and Vitamin D) and enhance the physical appearance of your garden. Growing things are therapeutic, great exercise and a stress reliever. Don’t have green fingers? Don’t worry! Basic garden maintenance is also beneficial to your garden and your soul.

2. Exercise

Move your body! It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any equipment at home. You can dance to your favourite music, download aerobics videos, attempt yoga stretches or simply do push-ups, sit ups etc.

3. Cooking & Baking

Try experimenting with what you have in the cupboards and cook up a storm. If baking is more your thing, the world is your oyster if you have cake flour and icing. This could also be a great family activity.

4. DIY

DIY can take on many forms. From building something from scratch to fixing it; from tinkering under the hood of your car to giving the garage that new lick of paint. Get busy!

5. Explore your creativity

Everyone has a creative side. Explore various avenues to find the right artistic hobby best suited to you. Ideas: knitting, drawing, painting, sewing, scrapbooking etc.

6. Learn something new/ develop your skills

The internet is more than just an entertainment tool! These days you can learn various new skills online. From learning how to play an instrument and learning to speak a new language to developing business skills. What have you always wanted to know how to do? No better time than the present.

7. Autumn “spring” clean

Declutter, reorganise and clean the house, backyard and garage. This could be a great family activity and be a valuable investment of your time once all of this has blown over.

AND BE ENTERTAINED
