About Aakash Mali - Kabir, Painter Work of art can act as a mirror. A mirror which can unmask the unreal and provide with an opportunity to see with a new perspective - Kabir. Kabir was born in Vadodara, Gujarat. He aspired being an artist since his early childhood. Hindu mythology and Indian history are the sources of his interest for visualisations. After graduating from high school, he pursued architecture interior course at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Spending three years into the course made him realise that the field is much more inclined towards practicality as well as technical and structural aspects. The viewer could look beyond the visible and see the value of efforts and process behind an artwork. This understanding, as Kabir thinks, is a fruit of the design education. Pastels, charcoal, acrylic and oil colours are majorly his mediums to work with since they help the creations to be more transitory. His current series called ‘The Sikar’. The series is inspired from early Indian art forms. The series is thought to explore and revisit early subjects and artforms of India such as animal hunting. The Sikar series is a continuation of a similar subject with a new approach and style. The artworks are thought to help the viewer comprehend the subjects with a new perspective. The art can play the role of a mirror reflecting the hidden reality of today’s society. The color palette used is drawn from the Indian culture mostly comprising of the shades of war such as brown and red.

PLATE CONNECTION
Members joined with concealed flitch plates and bolt
Plate connection to hold horizontal and multiple directional directional element. The joinery is mostly used in elements i.e supporters to make design more stronger and to reduce bulking among structure element
MORTISE AND TENON JOINERY
Mortise and tenon joinery to handle three column legs in position. joineries bolted with 3mm Gusset plate.
GROUND CONNECTION
APPLICATION 1
The ground connection of column is done with a bolted connection. The baseplate of join is anchored into the ground or concrete slope. i.e to place column leg in required angular direction

DESIGNING A STRUCTURAL SYSTEM STRUCTURE TYPE : Memebrane structure PROGRAM : Bird rehabiliation centre MATERIAL : Cable, PVC coated fabric, MS for main mast and poles
Form development of membrane structure using elliptical geometry as anchor points. The structure can be brought closure to the conical form having equal stress from all dimensions by increasing number of anchor points. Experimentation of form finding using multiple conical forms. The imaginery eliptical geometry act as anchoring line. The arches of structure are pre defined using tension weaker.

UNDERGROUND SPACE DESIGN Site - Polo forest, Himmatnagar, Gujarat Project - Spirat Respite The design majorly deals with the idea of relaxation and comfort. The concept is to relax the people who have come through the site, there by undergone a hiking experience. The rock decreases gradually while one moves down, thus minimizing fatigue and not ending the hiking experience abruptly. The design is thoughtfuly placed at the top of hill, which is one of the most relaxing space of the site. The approach is through a rope ladder or hiking the contours of the forest, thus making one pass aross slippery slopes and wild, dense trees. The design aims to relax the visitor through natural elements like water and rock. It is in the form of spiral steps which are 1.quaterly divided into different parts 2.decreasing in height of the riser and having more number of landings. The intent is to decrease the lavel of stress while going down deeper inside the spiral. Also different types of sensorial relaxation are explored, i.e the sense of smell is thought to be enhanced by lotuses blooming inside the water. The visiter can also behold the beautiful view and be in midst of it while being inside the space.
