Kaethe Burt-O'Dea

Kaethe Burt-O’Dea MSc AEES is an independent healthcare design consultant based in Dublin, Ireland. A diverse range of experience contributes to her research approach including careers in the arts, nursing, organic farming, product design, and cross-disciplinary sustainable design development. Her consultancy, desireland Ltd, focuses on the socio-cultural relationships that influence human well-being within the built environment and the promotion of integrated healthcare systems. Kaethe is the Creative Director of Bí URBAN CLG and nature-based social enterprise and not for profit working to connect nature, people and place to improve life for all members of society. Everyone, no matter their age, gender, race or ability, is entitled to live in a healthy environment. Similar to the way insects pollinate plants, humans pollinate ideas. Local knowledge and the behaviour of each individual are essential components in the development of public health.
