What is Apheresis? Apheresis or DFPP (Double Filtration
Plasmapheresis), was designed to selectively remove blood cells and other waste products from the body’s plasma and then return the plasma and blood cells back into the patient. At A Life Clinic We use Apheresis (DFPP), which was invented and developed in Japan. Apheresis(DFPP) is safer than Dialysis and is able to treat more diseases using a dual filter process. The first filter separates the White Blood Cells, Red Blood Cells and Platelets from the body’s plasma. The plasma then flows to a second filter, which will vary depending on the disease being treated. Our specialists will carefully select the correct filter to be used to suit each patient’s needs. The plasma is cleaned after the waste products are separated and then disposed off. The plasma is then recombined with the blood cells that were previously separated. Apheresis (DFPP) protects against the build up of waste products and poisons in our bodies that enter the bloodstream via our metabolism or the environment. Pleasa see Table 1 for the DFPP process.

DFPP for Rejuvenation When our body produces energy, it will also produce waste products from our metabolism. Also, our bodies will get contaminated from toxins in food and the environment. Our body can eliminate some of these bad products from our body but only to a limted point. Apheresis or DFPP will make this eleminatary process work more efficiently so that our bodies can repair themselves better. Our cells will be rejuvenated via apheresis. The question is “Is Apheresis suitable for a person who doesn’t have any medical problems or disease but would like to do it for rejuvenation? LDL will be separated from your blood stream by the specific filter. And not only LDL will be taken out of your body, fibrinogen or C-reactive protein will be filtered out too. Your blood stream will be less thick and will flow better. Apheresis treatment is not complicated or difficult and the result is very effective. Some patients have a LDL level higher than 250 mg% before treatment and after treatment the LDL level is decreased to be only 35 mg%. When the LDL level returns, Apheresis can be used again to reduce this level.
