1.3 Safety Notice • Do not try and disassemble or remodel the Kaiser Baas Personal Media Player. Doing so may cause the unit to malfunction and may void the warranty • Place all magnetised devices such as speakers away from the Kaiser Baas Personal Media Player as it may erase or cause damage to data stored on the on-board memory • Do not place the Kaiser Baas Personal Media Player in places that are exposed to oil, water or dust • Keep your Kaiser Baas Personal Media Player away from heated sources such as direct sunlight and heaters. • Do not touch the power plug with wet hands or use defective power cables as it may cause electric shocks or fire • Do no drop the Kaiser Baas Personal Media Player as it may cause serious damage and may void the warranty

1. Power button – Press and hold to turn the device on or off, press the button briefly to go back to the home screen 2. Return button – Go back to the previous screen 3. Directional & Play/Pause buttons – Use the directional keys to navigate to the various options available. Use the play/pause button to play or pause a media file 4. Menu button – This will bring up the on-screen menu when playing a media file or reading an Ebook, press and hold to select HDTV output 5. IR sensor – Infrared sensor 6. On/Off switch – This will turn the device on or off. 7. USB – Connect the device to your PC or connect the provided USB host cable to connect a USB memory stick or a powered USB hard drive 8. SD card slot – Insert your SD or SDHC card into this slot 9. HDTV output – Using the provided component cable, you can output the device to your TV set 10. Headphone output – Connect your headphone to this output 11. Personal Media Player 6. Additional Features Setup Wizard When the Kaiser Baas Personal Media Player is first turned on you will be presented with a language selection option. Select English and then press the Play/Pause button to continue. You will now be presented with the home screen and the various options available to play your video, music and photo files and to read Ebooks.
My Favourite When you connect the device to your PC, you can copy your favourite picture files into this folder. When you select My Favourite on the device, you can play a slide show with music. Pressing the menu button will allow you to turn off background music, alter slideshow duration, transitions and zoom or rotate a picture. Please note that the My Favourites folder must reside on the on-board memory.
Explorer You can explore the various files on the on-board memory, memory card or USB memory stick. Use the directional buttons to change and select the source. You can then select to play the files available.
Photo When you select photo and the memory source, your photo files will be displayed as thumbnails. Using the directional buttons to navigate, select a photo file that you want play then press the play/pause button to play a slideshow. Pressing the menu button will allow you to select current folder or all folders, turn off background music, alter slideshow duration, transitions and zoom or rotate a picture. Personal Media Player 6. Additional Features (continued) Video When you select video and the memory source, your video files located in the ‘VIDEO’ folder will be displayed. If your files are located in a different folder, press the return button to select a different location. Press the play/pause button to play a file. Pressing the menu button will bring up the on-screen controls for rewind, forward, skip ahead, repeat and brightness. Alternatively you can use the directional buttons to alter the volume to rewind and forward the video file without entering the on-screen controls. There is also an auto resume feature so if you need to turn off the device or play a different file, the next time you play that file, you will be asked if you want to resume from the last stop.
Music When you select music and the memory source, your audio files located in the ‘MUSIC’ folder will be displayed. If your files are located in a different folder, press the return button to select a different location. Press the play/ pause button to play a file. Pressing the menu button will bring up the onscreen controls for rewind, forward, repeat, shuffle, EQ, the ability to alter the backlight duration and background wallpaper change.
Ebook When you select ebook and the memory source, your text files located in the ‘EBOOK’ folder will be displayed. If your files are located in a different folder, press the return button to select a different location. Pressing the menu button will allow you to turn off background music, auto scroll, font colour and size, the ability to select page numbers and the option of changing the background wallpaper.

Setup There are various options that can be altered : About – This will display the specifications of the Kaiser Baas Personal Media Player Multimedia – This will allow you to adjust the various parameters available for photo, video, music and ebook playback TV Output – This option will allow you to select either output to the TV or to the LCD screen when the device is turned on Power – This option will allow you to turn on power saving, the ability to change the backlight level, the ability to alter the backlight duration, and the option of turning off the device when there is no activity. Common – This option will allow you to change the display language, background wallpaper, product information, firmware update, factory default and boot mode. Please note the battery icon on the top right hand corner of the home screen.

Personal Media Player 7. Trouble Shooting Q. I cannot power the device on and nothing happens when I connect to the PC. A. Slide the on/off switch to off; then slide to on, the device will reboot. Make sure the power adaptor is connected correctly. Q. The screen freezes and does not respond to any commands. A. Slide the on/off switch to off; then slide to on, the device will reboot. Make sure that your media files match the formats that are supported by the device. Q. I cannot play video files smoothly, I also get the ‘media format not supported’ message when I try and play files. A. Make sure that your media files match the formats that are supported by the device. There are various video and audio conversion programs available on the internet that will allow you to change to a supported format. Q. I cannot hear the audio. A. Make sure that the volume level is turned up. Q. I have various folders and subfolders however I can only access files in certain folders. A. The device cannot read subfolders that are more than 5 levels deep. Q. The device is not detecting my USB memory stick that I have connected. A. The maximum capacity of USB memory sticks is 32GB.

Q. The device turns off after a certain time. A. Check your power management settings. Q. The remote control is not working. A. Check that the provided battery has been inserted.
