Great gift ideas By KAITLIN LOUNSBERRY/VOICE CORRESPONDENT Posted Nov 28, 2011 @ 11:00 PM Most teenagers in the Springfield area are wishing for more things than their two front teeth, and something the tooth fairy isn’t likely to provide. After interviewing dozens of teenagers in the area, here is a list of musthaves for your 2011 Christmas Wish List. 1. “GLEE,” SEASON TWO: Amazon lists the disc set for $59.98, but many locations are likely to lower pricing on the hit series that’s a must-have for any Gleek. 2. CONCERT TICKETS: Since we teenagers are busy studying for school, working and paying for gas, affording concert tickets is unlikely. A way to fix this dilemma? Find out what concert your teenager is dying to see and buy a ticket or two. They’ll remember your generosity when they have the night of their life. 3. IPHONE 4S: You’d have to be living under a rock for the past several years not to know what the iPhone is and the following it has gained from the teenage crowd. So it’s only logical this savvy cellular device would be on the top of everyone’s wish list. With the iPhone’s new hands-free, accurate texting via Suri, this is a must-have for texting teens. 4. GAS MONEY: For those who already have their piece of plastic proving their ability to drive, money for gas is a key present for the holidays. Gas is expensive, and paying for it can be difficult — especially for opeople like me, who live miles away from Springfield. Give teens a break and buy a couple of gas cards. They’ll thank you when they don’t have to pay for gas. 5. VIDEO GAMES: I can’t claim to be an expert of which video games are a hit this season, but I’m sure whomver you’re shopping for has been dropping hits about their must-have games for weeks. “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” was just released, and now is the time to fight the crowds and get the deals before the next new game is released. 6. Pro sports tickets: Like concert tickets, professional sporting events are expensive and difficult for teenagers to afford. You don’t need to break the bank and buy courtside/fieldside/rinkside tickets, but a decent seat is enough to get your kids off your back for a while. And you’d be surprised. You could use the tickets to your advantage and enjoy a day with the family. Or you could have the day to yourself. Your pick.
7. A car: For the poor saps who are being chauffeured by their parents and are soon turning the big 1-6, a car is on the top of the list. Forget DVDs and clothes. Helping pay for a car for Christmas is the highlight gift for anyone waiting to take the streets by storm. Kaitlin Lounsberry is a senior at Williamsville High School.
