At present, the pension institutions operating in the base for retired workers who have witnessed the development of WISCO's golden age are in urgent need of transformation. We want to explore a new pension mode, combine WISCO culture and innovation with the pension industry, reawaken the memory of the base, and let the old people and young people who related to WISCO culture gather here again to inherit knowledge, experience and skills.

URBAN RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX- Knowledge Nomads UIA-HYP CUP 2078 International Student Competition in Architectural Design-Design a Urban Residential Complex in a First or Second Tiered Cities of China Site: Nanshaomen, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China Site Area: 25,000m 2 Building Area: 8, 04 7m 2 Use: Temporary living, Convenient working, Social Communication Individual Work

In contemporary Chinese society, there is a large group of people who spend half their day working and the other half on the road. The floating population with such a "nomadic" living condition is not migrant workers , but closer to a so-called urban "knowledge nomads". Urban Canal- The lnterbay Pass in Seattle UTSOA 2079 Winter Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Studio - Urban Design Project in lnterbay of Seattle, Cascadia Instructor: Prof. Dean Almy and Maggie Hansen Site: lnterbay, Seattle, USA Site Area: 1. 382 mi 2 Use: Artists Live-work, Affordable Housing, Business Live-work, Expedia Live-work, Ecology Industry, fishermen's Terminal Team Member: Charlie Weber, Carly Choi, Meizi Yang

In 1917, by releveling and uniting the region 's vast inland freshwater lakes and rivers, the Ballard Locks forever changed the landscape and economy of Seattle. At the same time, our seas are rising, the climate is warming, and all life is suffering from industrial pollution and unsustainable resource extraction. By cutting a canal from Salmon Bay to Smith Cove, lnterbay Pass first provides a redundant and complementary alternative to the Ballard Locks. In turn, it also offers Seattle an opportunity to rebuild this 'dead zone' of an urban neighborhood into a catalyst that can reframe its industrial ecosystem for the next 100 years . Our design exp/orations illustrate the potential for the Pass to also ground new and existing dense, urban live-work neighborhoods with stronger and forward-looking ecological and community connections. The urban context of Beilin area had developed twice, gradually developed from the relationship between people and painting to the relationship between people through painting and calligraphy. Local architectural space was created to meet the needs of these activities. The program aims to set up painting and calligraphy space nodes on the site to form a touring route and become a painting and calligraphy space network for tourists, painting enthusiasts and residents.

Nowadays, young people have less leisure time after work. When they come home from work, they live alone and need more communication and stronger workplace connections. In the same way, entrepreneurs in the early stage are eager for better platforms to expand their communication scope, so that they can exchange resources and contacts with each other and bring better opportunities for the development of the company. As a result, an industrial park containing living space is the best choice.

COLLEGE STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTER- SUPERIMPOSED SPACE XAUAT 2016 Winter Architecture Option Studio-Design a Student Center in the XAUAT Campus, Subtracting Space Instructor: Prof. Rui Wu Site: XAUA T, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China Site Area: 744m 2 Building Area: 625m 2 Structure: Steel Structure Use: Coffee, Reading, Meeting, Exhibition, Office Individual Work

This plan is to design a new student activity center on the northeast side of the teaching building of Architecture College in XAUA T campus, which is required to be made into tower because of the limited area. In response to the beautiful view around the site and needs to have two different entrances, subtracting space in different directions has become a clue of this design.

Dig block and generate main space B

The intersection creates a connection between the two

The activity center needs a variety of functions, and there is a certain relationship between them. Therefore, each digged block in the cube corresponds to a kind of function, after digging the block again, the overlapping parts between the two are opened to form a connection. These overlapping parts can serve as internal circulation space between major spaces.

Step 1: Concept of digging space

Step 3: Use materials to differentiate main and auxiliary space

Step 2: Reverse the re lation between figure and ground

Step 4: Use models to reflect structural possibilities

The digged spa ce is more private and specific, like the office or reading room. While the remaining space is more open, with a great deal of eye contact between each other. This division of privacy and open space is determined in the process of modeling, and it's ultimately represented by the material distinction.
