Emily Genauer was an art reviewer and columnist from 1932 until well into the 1980s, with regular writing posts on the New York World, the New York World­Telegram, the New York Herald Tribune, Newsday, and the New York Post. She also worked for Harper's and in television. She won a Pulitzer Prize for criticism in 1975. Summary: UNMICROFILMED: Correspondence; writings for the New York Herald Tribune and other newspapers and periodicals; typescripts, manuscript drafts and notes, partial chapters of a book, and published writings by Genauer in the form of reviews, articles, and periodicals; photographs, including b&w prints and color transparencies; exhibition catalogs; and subject files, consisting of documents pulled together by Genauer in preparation for a proposed book of her memoirs (never written) on the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art and Religion, Government and the Arts, World Fairs, and other subjects.
