This is the final outcome of a self directed project. It is a children's picture book written and illustrated by myself, that explores notions of overcoming a feeling of sadness and loss with being reminded of ones blessings (optimism).
This has been based on my previous autobiographical project, in the form of an artists book, which focused on a 'sense of place' and the Pine tree being symbolic for dispelling negativity in celtic belief. This was then applied to the feeling of homesickness and how being reminded of my 'sense of place' and blessings, helped overcome sadness with belonging, childhood memories of mystical fairies and nostalgia.
