Supplements for defined pages When an advertisement is being published in a defined editorial page (business, domestic, culture) a supplement of 0.20 euros/column millimetre will be charged.

The minimum height of an 8-column advertisement is 50 mm. The minimum height of other advertisements is 10 mm.

The advertisement has to be made in compliance with the size defined in the reservation.

Photos

Advertisements that are produced by Kaleva will be charged a production fee of 0.14euros/column millimetre net + VAT.

Greyscale photos have to be in grayscale format. Colour photos either in CMYK-eps or CMYK-tiff format or CMYK-jpeg, resolution 200 dpi. Photos have to be outlined to their final size in an image manipulation programme.

Reductions

Colours

Reduction for a repeat advertisement is 20 %. Reduction will be granted for the second and the following publications of the same advertisement within fourtheen days.

In CMYK format, no RGB colours. Pantone colours cannot be used in newspaper advertisements.

Advertising agencies

Transferring material

Advertising and media agencies will be granted reductions according to the quantity discount table, the maximum reduction is 15 %.

By e-mail to ilmoitus@kaleva.fi Do not use personal e-mail addresses for sending advertisements. Advertisement material deliveries have to be agreed upon in advance with a contact person.

Production fees

Deadlines for material to be proofed Two days prior publication by 10 am. Camera-ready material in electronic form, two days.

Other considerations If an advertisement cannot be published due to production or other operational reasons (e.g. strike), or reasons related to the customer, Kaleva will not be responsible for damages caused to the customers. If there is an unexpected globally important piece of news for the newspaper on the day of the publication of the advertisement, Kaleva will reserve the right to change the place of the advertisement or cancel it from the day’s paper. The customer will be informed in advance, if possible.

A draft proof and a line transfer note indicating the fonts, colours, packing etc. has to be included in the delivery. Please check the material for viruses before sending it!

Naming the material Name of the customer, date of publication, size. For example, Firm, 16.11, 3x245.

Terms of payment The term of payment is 7 days net. Interest on overdue payments is 7,5 %.

Almost everyone reads newspapers Newspapers were still Finlandâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s largest media by far. Newspapers held over one-third of the advertising market share. Moreover, newspapers collect a significant part of growing online media sales. The slice of the pie claimed by city newspapers was just short of six per cent. The combined reach of printed newspapers and their associated online services totalled 94 per cent of the Finns. The largest printed newspapers reached 73 per cent of all Finns over 12 years of age. During an average week, printed newspapers were read by 92 per cent, on computers by 57 per cent, with mobile phones by 16 per cent, and on tablet computers by 5 per cent of Finnish citizens.
