HOW TO APPLY Step 1 Read this catalog for a brief description of our scholarships, then visit kalfound.org/scholarships for the full scholarship requirements.

Step 2 Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at fafsa.gov by March 1. Doing so allows you to apply for financial aid (either government or college funded). The FAFSA application is open now!

Step 3 Start filling out your online application, which will be available at kalfound.org/egrant by January 1.* You don’t have to finish it all at once but give yourself plenty of time to complete the application, write your essay, request letters of recommendation, and make sure you have filed the FAFSA if financial need is a scholarship requirement. CLARENCE L. REMYNSE SCHOLARSHIP: Applications are due December 1, 2018. Apply online now at kalfound.org/remynse. The deadline to apply for most of our other scholarships is March 1, 2019 but some have different deadlines, so be sure to check.

Step 4 Submit your application. Our application software will determine which scholarships you’re eligible for and we’ll let you know what they are. Some scholarships might require additional documents beyond what you’ve already submitted, so be sure to check your email for any communications from us.

Step 5 Wait. This might be the hardest part. Our selection committees meet to decide who will receive which scholarships, which can take a couple of months. We’ll be in touch by the end of July. *If you don’t have a computer, just let us know. You can use one of ours or we can send you a paper application. Email scholarships@kalfound.org or call 269.381.4416.
