made this book a possibility. To all my friends and family, as well as my teachers and comrades at CyberARTS: Thank you for making these four years of my life truly memorable. Without further ado, let me introduce to you: The concept art book for the franchise that only exists in my brain (for now), No Vagrancy. Over the course of this creation, I feel like these characters have grown closer to me somehow. I hope you’ll find them as fun as I do.

Guardians are one of Orbis’s first engineering miracles. They are androids that are designed to search and destroy enemies so that Orbis doesn’t have to send as many citizens to the frontlines of battle. Guardians are deadly, but their defense is extremely weak. A shot to their “spinal cord” will make them malfunction, if not shut down altogether. They are mass-produced and very expendable. As Orbis puts it, “Guardians are designed to make the lives of civilians easier. They are here to protect us from all dangers, and to protect the unity and integrity of the great Orbis empire.”

The main characters need some sort of ride in order to navigate around their world. Bee lovingly nicknamed their ship The Raisin, because “It’s old, small and wrinkly like a raisin”. Although it isn’t a beauty, it gets the gang around. It consists of an old RV Horus used to live in, strapped to one of Bee’s planes from her piloting days (re-painted to her liking). It also has some attachments that can convert it to a submarine for short periods of time. It also has a huge parachute stored in the second cockpit, just in case. Horus even made a mini “green roof” on top of the plane, where a few crops are grown in case there is ever a shortage of food. Because of its fragile nature, The Raisin must be piloted slowly. They also store a lot of equipment to fix her up if needed. The Raisin might not have too much leg room, but it’s home.

no man’s land These deserted areas are generally safe for vagrants to wander. Sometimes you can find a few lost artifacts or ruins from villages or towns that have been torn down by Orbis.

abandoned resistance hideout The Resistance is hard to catch, but the Orbis guardians are constantly on their trail. This hideout seems to be freshly and hastily abandoned, and the guardians can probably find remnants of deadly plans and makeshift weapon-making factories.

Note Even their hands need to add to their character!

Note Bee’s bangs used to be tucked behind her goggles! I thought it looked weird though, so I changed it.

10

Note It’s important to look at how big they are compared to each other!

Horoscope: Virgo

Likes: Loafing around, learning stuff

MBTI: INTJ

Dislikes: People telling her what to learn

When she was young, Tara’s introversion as well as her inability to focus on anything she found boring(school) and obsession with things she fancied put a strain on her relationship with her parents. She studied unusually hard to get into a prestigious engineering academy because she felt guilty for being a burden on them. After her acceptance, she fell behind and was berated for her lack of passion, direction and discipline. The headmistress prescribed her a type of pill that, while solving the issue of attention deficit, completely wiped away her excitement and creative thought. Eventually, she began to bleed and experience bad headaches(This was later found out to be a common ploy by the headmistress to get rid of misbehaving students). Pressured to continue her prescription, she became too ill to study and was eventually thrown out. Too weak and too ashamed to face her parents, Tara ran...

Horus’s parents and neighbors were killed when he was a boy, fighting against Orbis in an effort to prevent the ecosystem of their land from becoming building grounds for a factory. The Resistance quickly became his family, and he was raised to fight for them. His intimidating stature and physical ability was a huge asset, and he was often assigned to government worker assassinations. As Horus got older, he found that the Resistance had become more controlling and stifling. He began to experience PTSD. When he told one of his long-time mentors and one of the Resistance’s leaders, he was quickly silenced and ordered to work. Horus stayed because he was scared, and his mental health deteriorated. After one seemingly lackluster mission, Horus broke down upon realizing that the people he killed had lives and children just like his parents. He ran away from the scene, swearing off violence forever...

Bee registered to join Orbis’s Air Corps as soon as she could to help her parents. Her skill allowed her to climbed the ranks quickly and fight missions against the Resistance. Eventually the Resistance attacks died down and she was tasked to take out a strip of enemy settlement on an abandoned plain. Upon flying to the location, she saw a peaceful vagrant settlement below. She didn’t feel the need to hurt these people, and was confused as to why she was ordered to do so. She retreated, much to the displeasure of the captain, who expressed his disappointment in the failure of her first solo operation. The general explained that in order for Orbis to maintain power, these neighborhoods cannot exist. He revealed that he had another fleet carry out the mission right after she left. She quit in sadness and frustration, leaving all her savings to her parents. She couldn’t work for Orbis after knowing this...
