CHAMBER DELEGATION GOING TO D.C. TO PUSH BYPASS FUNDING

A robust group of ten top business and civic officials will fly-in to Washington, D.C. in September to meet with our delegation and other officials in an effort to secure $15 million of funding to widen the south half of the Bypass. Completing the full-build of the Bypass is a high priority of the Chamber’s Strategic Plan. We will also press for other Strategic Plan priorities including: national parks infrastructure, forest management provisions of the agriculture bill, FAA reauthorization, and an infrastructure bill.

4H & FFA MARKET LIVESTOCK SALE HOPEFUL TO TOP 2017 RECORD Each year our office partners with the Flathead County Fairgrounds, 4H, and FFA to host the annual Market Livestock Sale. On Tuesday and Wednesday of the Northwest Montana Fair, students from across the Flathead will show their hogs, lambs, and cows in a competition that judges the animals size and student’s ability to control the animal. Then, on Saturday, August 18, the students will enter the ring once again and present their animal for auction. This event is the greatest way to provide locally sourced, ethically raised meat for your family, friends, employees, or a community organization. Every penny from each sale is directly returned to the student who raised each animal. In 2017, the Market Livestock Sale raised over $500k for area students, and the event’s organizers and students have their eyes set on topping that number. For more information on the event, read why local businesses choose to get involved, how students raise the animals, and how community organizations benefit from food donations.
