Day 1 Drive early in the morning from Bangalore to Mysore. Stop at Srirangapatna on the way, a historically and religiously significant place which served as the capital of several kingdoms, and the Palace of Tipu Sultan, an 18th century palace. Upon arrival, check-in at Sandesh. Visit the Mysore Palace and an impressive temple at the top of Chamundi Hill dedicated to Sri Chamundeshwari. You they can take a walk along the Devaraja Market and go back to watch the palace which is beautifully illuminated after sunset.
Day 2 Mysore is known, not just for its royalty, but is synonymous with silk. The quality of silk and the fabrics made from it are loved and used nationwide. Take a walk on the Silk Route of Mysore, and observe the entire process of manufacture, from the purchase of the silk cocoons in the market to the weavers’ center where the finished garments take shape. Later, visit a stone sculptors’ workshop. A craft that has been handed down generations of artisans and sculptors, the same method from centuries ago is still used to carve spectacular sculptures.

Explore Heritage Trails
Drive to Somanathapura to visit the 13th century Chennakeshava Temple, a sculptural masterpiece built by the Hoysalas. Post-lunch, visit Talakadu, an ancient but recently unearthed temple village with previously submerged temples along the river Kaveri. Return to Mysore for the night.

Take a day’s excursion to Edakkal Caves, approximately a three-hour drive from Mysore. These are prehistoric caves with human drawings and carvings on the walls of the cave dating back to 6000 BCE. It’s an hour’s climb up to the caves. Drive to Wayanad for the night. Drive to Mysore and take departure transfer to Bangalore.
