CARROT Nutri-Red is a purplish-red carrot that is high in lycopene. Lycopene is a precursor to beta-carotene and is a compound that has been associated with reduced incidence of some types of cancer. Produces carrots up to 9 inches in length, with crispy roots that taste wonderful cooked, and adds color and gourmet appeal to vegetable dishes and stews. This carrot is for cooking. When cooked, there is a transformation of texture, color and taste.
