COMPANY ETHICAL POLICY

1 – BEING A GOOD EMPLOYER Kampala Fair Limited was founded to provide good jobs for Ugandans, and particularly for disadvantaged women in Uganda, and from a belief that giving people the chance to work is more powerful than giving charity. We will provide pleasant and safe working conditions, good salaries, keep reasonable hours and provide additional benefits (e.g. loans for land purchase) to our staff. We will provide training through a peer to peer training scheme, to ensure our staff have skills that they can take on future work. We will be open with staff about the general affairs and direction of the company, and seek their opinions in matters that concern them. We will not employ people under 16 in our workshop or elsewhere. Whilst our focus is on supporting women, we will not discriminate in hiring, remuneration, access to training, promotion, termination or retirement based on sex, race, caste, national origin, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, union membership, political affiliation, HIV/Aids status or age. 2 – ADDING VALUE TO OUR COMMUNITY We will source our fabrics and other raw materials from markets within Kampala, contributing towards a living for poor traders within those markets. We will be open and transparent in our dealings with suppliers, business partners and other stakeholders, and we will seek to build long term relationships based on solidarity, trust and mutual respect. Third policy, amended and agreed December 2014. This policy is reviewed and amended as necessary on an annual basis.
