The City of Kamloops is a proud sponsor and wishes the symphony all the best during its 2022–2023 season.
Welcome to the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra’s electrifying Pink Floyd concert as we fuse the grandeur of the symphony with the rebellious spirit of rock ‘n’ roll. It’s like Beethoven and Roger Waters jamming together in a cosmic garage.
Now, I know some of you might be thinking, “The symphony? Isn’t that where people sit quietly, sipping tea, and nodding sagely?” Well, my friends, tonight we’re turning that notion upside down. We’re cranking up the volume to 11, shaking the chandeliers, and inviting you to unleash your inner rock star.
Why Pink Floyd? Because their music isn’t just notes on a page; it’s a kaleidoscope of emotions. It’s the heartbeat of rebellion, the echo of dreams, and the soundtrack to countless late-night conversations. They transformed the sound of an entire generation. When those strings collide with electric guitars, magic happens. And guess what? You’re part of that magic tonight.
Fun Facts About the Symphony:
• Conductors Don’t Use Magic Wands: They use batons. But hey, if they had wands, they’d probably conjure up some epic crescendos.
• Violins Aren’t Just for Serenades: They can shred like electric guitars. Seriously, watch out for those violin solos tonight!
• Symphony Etiquette: It’s simple. Clap when you’re moved. Dance in your seat if you must. And if you feel like shouting “Encore!” during the applause—go for it!
So, dear audience, let’s break the mold tonight. Let’s sway, headbang, and air-drum to this symphonic rock fusion. Let’s make memories that’ll echo through to the great gig in the sky. And who knows? Maybe someday, when you hear a violin, you’ll smile and say, “Ah, that’s my jam!”
Thank you for joining us on this endless river. Buckle up, because the symphony just got a rock ‘n’ roll upgrade. Welcome to the machine!

April
Our next sale will be taking place in St. Andrew’s on the Square
159 Seymour Street
Donations will be gratefully accepted April 1–3 from 9AM to noon.
As you may know, we have a new home at St. Andrews on the Square for our twice-yearly sale. It was a sudden move to this space, and we are extremely grateful to be in such a beautiful location for both the sales and the storage of the books. However, this does mean we are extremely limited on space. We will be putting plans in place over the next few months to ensure you still get the great selection with easy access so please watch for this!
One thing that we have been trying to eliminate through education is taking in books that cannot be sold and we
must discard, which has a huge cost and impact on our environment. We are extremely excited that the City has now introduced book recycling in two locations: Tournament Capital Centre and the North Kamloops Library. These un-sellable items can be dropped in their carts at either of those locations. We will not be accepting encyclopedias, textbooks, spiral-bound books, manuals, or outdated publications. Please ensure that you do not include them in your drop off and use the City’s book recycling bins instead. Magazines can go into your recycling bin.
