Kamloops Symphony Music School
The Kamloops Symphony Music School had another successful year of stable growth. In the fall, we welcomed Heather Macleod to the Music Faculty, and had over 240 students pass through our door, from the ages of 3 to 83.
Although COVID-19 forced us to reexamine and reimagine our operations, thanks to the flexibility of our faculty and students, we were able to transition to an online method for the remainder of the year, with minimal loss to the student enrollment. We were able to reopen on a limited basis back in June of 2020.

We saw very successful student recitals at Christmas and in February, ahead of the Kamloops Performing Arts Festival Season.
In 2019-2020, we were able to create a second award from the proceeds of the Peter Collins Memorial Fund: one specifically for a student pursuing post-secondary education in Music. We were proud to announce Jas Schweitzer as the winner of the inaugural award, as part of a virtual recital that took place in June 2020.
