ARENA DIRECTOR, WHIPMAN & HEAD DRUM/DANCE JUDGE
The Arena Director, Whipman and Head Drum/Dance Judge works closely with the M.C.’s to ensure that the powwow runs smoothly; ensuring all contestants are organized during grand entry, competitions/exhibitions and that appropriate songs are chosen for each dance category.
The Arena Director chooses all judges and alternates, Whipman and Head Drum/Dance Judge for each session and ensures that all judges adhere to the rules.
The Arena Director and Whipman takes care of the arena by making sure that all the children stay off the arena during competitions, specials, honor dances, and ceremonial dances. He also takes care of the dropped eagle feathers when they are on the arena, takes care of the eagle whistles, and lines up the dancers in the grand entries.
