Fish Lake Resort and Banquet Facility offers a spacious totally remodeled and air-conditioned facility for year-round use. Jeff and Lila Kremers are the new owners since April 2007. No longer a roller skating rink as in years past, prior to the Kremers. The banquet facility can now offer service next to none in Kanabec County, with ample parking and camping facilities. The Kremers offer full catering services for events, including all staff and linens. The large lakeside deck will have you enjoying the warm weather months more and the new friendly resort atmosphere. If you haven’t already, Jeff and Lila invite you out to enjoy the new atmosphere and good food. Jeff and Lila have worked hard since 2007 to establish the Fish Lake Resort and Banquet Facility. They offer very reasonable prices for your events to make your event memorable and also put more money back into your pockets and the community. Jeff and Lila recommend early reservations to insure your preferred date; however, they also welcome short notice events. Throughout the summer, Fish Lake Resort is open seven days a week. Monday through Friday they are open from noon to 1 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday they are open from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. On Saturdays and Sundays breakfast is served 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The kitchen is open until 10 p.m. daily. Currently, they have two weekly night specials. Friday night at Fish Lake Resort is all-you-can-eat fish and on Tuesday is Mexican night. Fish Lake Resort also has freshly baked dinner rolls and buns. They currently have 63 permanent RV sites and 34 that are weekend campers for RVs and tents. Meat raffles take place every Saturday throughout the summer and will be on Sundays throughout the winter. The Ogilvie Lions also have their pull tabs at Fish Lake Resort and look for your support to help the community. Fish Lake Resort has something for everyone. Come see it for yourself!

MARGARET V. LINDQUIST Margaret Victoria Lindquist of Mora died on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at her home. She was 94 years old. She was born on Nov. 1, 1917 in Sand Lake to parents Victor and Martha (Ericson) Wicklund. Born the third of nine children, she attended country school near Sand Lake until the family moved to the Grasston area in 1931 where she attended the Wyndham District 1 School. Due to her mother’s poor health, she spent her teenage years taking care of her younger siblings. On Dec. 9, 1939, she was united in marriage to Lorain Lindquist. Together the couple made their home on the family farm in Grasston where they raised their four children. Margaret helped Lorain with the farm chores and raising crops as well as caring for her family. After Lorain’s death in 1994, she moved to the Woodcrest apartments in Mora where she continued to reside until her death. She was a long-time member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Grasston. She enjoyed gardening while on the farm and was a wonderful cook, especially her fudge and cakes. She and Lorain

enjoyed many winters in Florida, and enjoyed traveling with family and friends to Alaska, Hawaii, and California. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, and doing puzzles. Most of all, she loved her family and taking care of them. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lois Chapel; siblings, Victor (Hilde), Violet (Ray), Vimar, Paul (Rosie), and Vivian (Roy). She is survived by her children, Vern (Jan) of Minneapolis, Sharon (Daryl) Voss of Mora, and Bob (Judy) of Grasston; son-in-law, John Chapel of Wyoming, Minn.; siblings, Mabel Lindquist of Mora, Ruth Drost of Mora, and John (LaVonne) Wicklund of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren, Karin (Joe) Nord, Kim (Lyn) Zeadow, Kathy (Chris) Gleason, Chris (Mark) Robbie, Cheri (Mike) Friedrich, Tim Voss, Todd (Cindy) Voss, Troy Voss, Wendy Hartman, Dusty Lindquist, and Ryan Lindquist; 22 great-grandchildren; six greatgreat-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service was held on Monday, Jan. 2 at the Hope Lutheran Church of Grasston with Rev. Herman Bakker officiating. Music was provided by Susan Williams and Elaine Keehr. Pallbearers were Tim Voss, Todd Voss, Troy Voss, Dusty Lindquist, Ryan Lindquist, Mike Friedrich and Joe Nord. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Robbie, Lyn Zeadow and Chris Gleason. Burial was in the Grasston Union Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora. Condolences may be posted at www.aifuneralhome.com.
