BUILT BY VASALOPPET Ever wonder what Vasaloppet has contributed to the City of Mora, besides a ski race? Collage posters depicting the construction of the Ole skier statue, Bell Tower, Ingrid the Kranskulla statue, the Obelisk, small Dala horse and the Nordic Center are now being displayed at First Citizens Bank. Also, included is the Mora Train Depot as it transitioned into Vasaloppet Headquarters. The photo collage exhibition is open to the public to view through Feb. 18. FEB. 5 MORALOPPET SKI FOR THE CAUSE Need a skiing challenge, a technique tune up or a relaxing ski? The annual Moraloppet Ski for the Cause will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center. Registration is online only and is currently open until 10:00 a.m. on race day. Bib pick up begins at 9:30 a.m. for 21km and 10.5km race distances, plus the 5km tour. The Moraloppet Ski for the Cause is a fundraising event benefiting the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation. A portion of each race registration fee will be donated to the Foundation. For more race information and to register go to vasaloppet.us. TRÄLOPPET SKI RACE In Swedish, Träloppet means the wood race. Th is race will imitate the early
years of the Vasaloppet when skis were made of wood. The Träloppet is only for skiers racing with a pair of wooden skis. The Träloppet, will be held 10:45 a.m. at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center.
