n May 22 our home was destroyed by a devastating fire. After the flames had been put out we noticed amidst the soot and charred remains, a yellow butterfly which landed at our feet and then for the next hour kept circling and landing. I told my daughter I saw it as a sign of hope and new life.

Since that day my husband and I have been totally and utterly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, kindness, generosity and support from family, friends, co-workers and the community.

We especially want to thank all the emergency workers who were there that day. Those men and women were amazing.

Also, special thanks (although there can never be enough words to truly express our gratitude) have to go out to Jen Vigz, Karen and Dave Orsburne and George and Leah Shetka. They did so much for us, it would take pages to list it all, but know how very much we love and appreciate you.

Each of you who have reached out to us in support has given us hope and helped us move forward toward our new life. We humbly and gratefully thank you.

Warnie William Nyman, Jr. died on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. He was 64 years old.

He was born on May 13, 1952, in Braham to Warner and Jean Nyman.

He loved fishing, mechanics and woodworking. He worked at feed mills, Woischke’s Resrt as maintenance person, at Larson Implement as a mechanic and also like to buy and sell items in his yard. He could fi x anything.

He enjoyed going camping, long drives, motorcycling, feeding the birds and building houses for them.

He also liked growing flowers and helping people who were in need.

He raised pigeons and like flying airplanes with son, Joseph and friend, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Roy and Lottie Nyman and Lucy and Harlow Lawrence, uncles, Ralph Nyman and Jamie Nyman; brothers, Calvin Nyman and Jack Mitchel and nephew, Calvin, Nyman, Jr. He is survived by Warnie, Sr.; Jean Tipp; brother, Ken (Vicky) Nyman; sisters, Barb (Wayne) Carter and Susie (Dick) Wentworth; Pearl Mitchel; Arlene (Bill) Kobernick; Jr.’s children, Julie and Mike Anderson, Brian and fiancée Jamie, Joseph and Sara Nyman; grandchildren, Jacob, Elizabeth, TJ, Parker, Morgan, Tyler and Paige; special buddy, Alex Wentworth and many nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be a celebration of lfe on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Braham Moose Lodge from 1 - 5 p.m. Please come and share your stories with everyone.

Wendell “Butch” Joseph Wallskog died on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. He was 72 years old.

He was born on March 23, 1944 in Milaca to Wendell “Whimp” Wallskog, Sr. and Amelia (Motschenbacher)Wallskog. He grew up in Ogilvie and later moved to a farm in Bock.

He worked in cement but his true love was hunting and fishing. He was united in marriage to Linda (Ferguson) Wallskog in 1982 and they lived in Milaca until she passed away in 1999.

He then fulfi lled a lifelong dream of living in Baudette. He especially loved sharing his love of fishing and hunting with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by wife and best friend, Linda and his parents.

He is survived by daughters, Tammy (Joe) Robinette, Rhonda Schultz and her fiancé, Randy Ramler and Cindy (Gene) Kragt; grandchildren, Christopher, Cody, Nicolas and Chelsey Kragt, Jordan and Leah Meyer and Annie and Emma Dalton; brothers and sisters, Janice Kleven, Judy (Jerry) Stark, Dewy (Pam West) Wallskog, Daryl (Karen) Wallskog, Deb Heirigs, Cindy (Robyn) Persson, and Geri Simonson.

A life celebration will take place at McBee’s Bar and Grill, 2198 MN. 47 in Ogilvie on Tuesday, July 19, from 5-8 p.m.
