O

n December 25, 2013 Tom Prigge was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The cancer did not respond to either the chemotherapy or the radiation and spread to his lungs, colon, bladder and his pelvic bone. On October 29th, Tom’s doctor stated that he should spend the short time he has left with his family and enjoying life. At the age of 50, most are planning the rest of their life, sadly Tom’s family is planning on how they are going to live theirs without him. Tom is leaving behind his wife Karen, and his two daughters Hannah and Haley. Karen has been a Special Education teacher since graduating college four years ago. Hannah has started her sophomore year at Concordia in Moorhead. Haley is

a sophomore in high school and active in band and on the Bluejacket Soccer Team. Tom and his family have touched so many lives with their kindness, their generosity, and their warm spirit. We are trying to raise as much as we can to help take care of his family in their time of need. Those of us that know Tom have watched our friend’s health slowly worsen over the last year and we have all asked what can we do to help? What can we do to give Tom the caring and the support that he has given us all so freely, whether he has known you for thirty years or thirty minutes? This is what we can do. Please use this opportunity to show Tom and his family what a dierence they have made. Use this opportunity to show Tom that he will forever remain in our hearts.

*IMPORTANT PROPERTY TAX HOMESTEAD NOTICE* *This will affect the amount of property tax you pay in 2015, and it may affect your eligibility for a property tax refund. Please contact your county assessor to file a homestead application on or before December 15, 2014, if one of the following applies: * You purchased a property in the past year and you, or a qualifying relative, occupy the property for homestead purposes on December 1, 2014; or * You or a qualifying relative occupy a property for homestead purposes on December 1, 2014, and the property was previously classified as non-homestead. A qualifying relative for homestead purposes depends on the type of property. For residential property a qualifying relative can be a parent, stepparent, stepchild, child, grandparent, grandchild, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, nephew, or niece of the owner. This relationship may be by blood or marriage. For agricultural property, a qualifying relative can be a child, grandchild, sibling or parent of the owner or of the spouse of the owner.
