Love, Bruce and family CHARLOTTE G. SMITH Charlotte Gertrude Smith of Mora died on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at her home. She was 100 years old.

She was born on Oct. 9, 1917, in Minneapolis to parents Fred and Helen (Kunz) Th ielen. She was united in marriage to Jack P. Smith on March 26, 1942, in Minneapolis.

They moved to a farm near Mora in 1972 where she lived until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; brother, Fred (Marcella) Th ielen and sister, Margaret (John) Lewis.

She is survived by sons, Michael and Gregory (Kim); grandchildren, Kim Dahl and James (Laura) Dahl; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora with Fr. Eugene Plaisted and Rita Clasemann officiating.

Music will be provided by Kris Paulson and the St. Mary’s Choir.

Interment will be in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Mendota Heights.

Arrangements made by the Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.

PART-TIME MAINTENANCE – SNOW REMOVAL The North Branch Public Works Department is currently seeking applications for 2 PT seasonal snow plow drivers for the winter season. Primary duties will be to operate snow plows and snow removal equipment safely such as tandem plow trucks, single axle plow trucks, loaders and skid-steers during precipitation events, snow storms and storm cleanup. Lead Home Visitors are responsible for the supervision of the Early Head Start/ Head Start Home Visitors located in the North Branch and Mora sub-offices.

This position oversees the operation of the sub-office sites, acts as a liaison between the main office service area Coordinators and Managers and the sub-offices, maintains supply inventories, and conducts performance evaluations. Lead Home Visitors provide direct home visiting services for up to six families.

Position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency. Preferred education is a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Prekindergarten Licensure, or Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. Must have experience working with children ages 0-5, be sensitive to the lifestyles and needs of low-income clientele, and must have supervisory, administrative, and communication skills in order to supervise staff.

This is a full time position with competitive salary and a generous benefit package. Benefit package includes medical, dental, life insurance, retirement with 5% match, vacation and sick leave, 12 paid holidays per year (including 1 floating holiday), and work mileage reimbursement at the current government rate.
