INDOOR FLEA MARKET
The Braham Area Community Center task force wishes to thank everybody who made our Santa Day fundraiser such a huge success. The hall was beautifully decorated. Santa heard the children’s wishes, with help from Mrs. Santa. The ladies had baked their goodies for sale. Wonderful live music was provided by church groups from several denominations. Young people, including 4-H’ers, did a myriad of jobs. Ticket sellers did their part, for advance sales as well as direct purchase. Santa’s gift shop was set up and gave everybody an opportunity to shop for their loved ones. The children really enjoyed that, and were able to get their purchases gift wrapped. The early birds who helped to carry in and carry out at the end of the day, the all important cleanup crew, those who donated money, all helped to make the day. If you came and enjoyed the waffles, thank you. St. Peter and Paul Church provided the ideal location without which it couldn’t have taken place. We all came together as a united community to advance the day when the Braham Area Community Center will be a reality. It’s coming folks!

Miraculous Prayer Dear heart of Jesus in the past I have asked for favors. This time I ask you this very special one (mention favor). Take it dear Jesus and place it within your own broken heart where your Father sees it, then it will become your favor, not mine. Amen. Say this prayer for 3 days, promise publication and favor will be granted. Never known to fail.

VILLA HEALTH CARE CENTER BECOMES
ST. CLARE LIVING COMMUNITY OF MORA
Mora Adult Co-ed Volleyball League Begins on Jan. 4 Registration Deadline is December 29!
Mora, Minn. – Villa Health Care Center announced it will be changing its name to St. Clare Living Community of Mora. Over the past few months, employees, residents, family members, volunteers and community leaders worked to develop a new name and identity for Villa Health Care Center. “The challenge for the group was to find a name that would reflect on our continuum of care, our devotion to quality, our Mission and our closer relationship with the Benedictine Health System,” said Jack L’Heureux, administrator/CEO. “Effective on Jan., 1, 2012, we are excited to say our new name will be St. Clare Living Community of Mora.” “We feel our new name and logo communicates what we wanted in our new identity for the future,” L’Heureux explained. St. Clare of Assisi left a life of wealth to
pursue a life of service. Our Mission calls us to serve those in need in our community. As a Living Community, people will know that we offer more than just nursing home care. St. Clare Living Community of Mora offers skilled nursing and respite care, inpatient rehabilitation, assisted living, and home care. “Although we have a different name and a new look, our dedicated employees will continue to provide award winning quality, compassionate care to all in our community as we have for the past 42 years,” L’Heureux added. A formal unveiling of the new name and logo will be held on Dec., 15 with the employees and residents joining in the celebration. For more information about the services offered by St. Clare Living Community of Mora, go to www.bhshealth.org.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MARK SHATAVA Tis Christmas in Heaven I think of my family What a beautiful sight! That I left behind, It’s my first one here; And pray that your Everything is all right. Christmas Is as blessed as mine. The crib is adorned With the brilliance of the star; Please shed no more tears, Wisemen have come For my soul is now at rest. From near and far. Just love one another, Live Life to the best. I’ve met all our dear ones Who preceded us here; Yes, it’s Christmas in heaven, The reunion was lovely, So I’ve heard them say. An event full of cheer. Yes, Christmas in Heaven Happens everyday. And tonight we’ll all gather; In reverence we’ll kneel, Sadly missed by, For the babe in the cradle, Mom, Clark and Family Up in Heaven is Real.

80TH BIRTHDAY OPEN HOUSE FOR AL BERGHAMMER Friends and family of Al Berghammer are invited to an 80th birthday celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 4-7 p.m. at Chengwatana Town Hall.
TANNER S. THIELEN Tanner Scott Thielen of Mora died on Friday, Dec. 16 at his home in rural Kanabec County. He was 16 years old. He was born on Sept. 27, 1995 in Cambridge to Daniel and Tracy Thielen and he grew up in the Mora area. He was a natural-born athlete and he loved just playing the game. He participated in baseball, basketball and football at school and he also loved fishing and hunting with family and friends whenever he could. Except for one ice fishing trip, that is, when he dropped his brand new DS game down the hole. He was extremely proud of getting, not one, but two deer this year. He had one of the greatest smiles ever and we saw it most often when he was lovingly teased or when he was dishing out a dose of the same. He and Ross were often partners in harassing their siblings and recently had them slapping themselves in the face with shaving cream as they slept. He also helped cover his Uncle Jordan’s entire van with post-it notes, renaming the faithful Dodge a Chevy. He was such a great gift
to us all. He will be deeply missed by many extended family members, friends, classmates, teammates, coaches, teachers and all those who loved and cared for him so very much and wish him eternal peace with God. He is survived by mother, Tracy Thielen; aunt and Uncle Dan and Julie (McGrew) Krone of Mora who were also his guardians; siblings, Paige, Hailey and Trevor Thielen, as well as Ross, Kendra, Megan and Christopher Krone; grandparents, Judy and Joe Gries of Crosby, Heinz and Juanita Ledowski of Mora and Marshall and Jeanne McGrew of Mora; uncles, Jordan and Shawn McGrew of Mora, Terry Thielen of Andover, Jim and David Thielen of Mora, John Hall from Kansas and their spouses; aunt, Deby Volk from Sandstone and family; special grandparents, Avis (Krone) and Gene Byker - he was loved by the entire Krone family; friend, Kathi Ellis; many cousins, great aunts and uncles and extended family members too numerous to mention. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora with Rev. Douglas Larson and Rev. Brenda Wicklund officiating. Music was provided by Betty Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Paige, Hailey and Trevor Theilen, Ross, Kendra, Megan and Christopher Krone, Jordan and Shawn McGrew, Mike Krone, Aaron Tetnowski and Brent Nelson. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements by DresserMethven Funeral Home.
