Thank you! The Knife Lake Sportsmen’s Club would like to extend our gratitude to the local businesses and residents who so generously provided gifts of merchandise, cash and services to our annual Ice Fishing Contest held February 1, 2020. 2020 was one of our best years to date for attendance. I would estimate 500-600 participants took part in our 65th annual contest. Once again, the weather was mild and everyone seemed to enjoy it. At this year’s contest, we were able to register and weigh over 40 fish with a couple northern in the slot limit that couldn’t be counted. I’m sure someday we will see a 36â€? plus get weighed and counted. There are plenty of those in KNIFE LAKE! Thank you to all who came out and supported your Knife Lake Sportsmen’s Club event. Congratulations to the following 5 prize winner with the registered fish you caught: 1st place: Dave Ulasin – 8 1/2â€? Perch 2nd place: Rita Brink – 8 7/16â€? Perch 3rd place: Tristin Rauschun – 8 3/8â€? Perch 4th place: Deb Dryden – 8 1/4â€? SunďŹ sh 5th place: Nick Trump – 8 1/8â€? Perch The volunteers’ help is always needed and deeply appreciated. Thank you all!! It takes a lot of people to run our contest and “Winter Day of Fun!â€? Thank you also to Boy Scout Troop #191 from Mora for the flag presentation and the great ice fishing food! We also gave away our second Ice Castle Fish House. This year’s winner was Dylan Wenzel. Congratulations and we hope you get years of enjoyment from it. We would like to extend a big thank you to Milaca Unclaimed Freight for supplying the house. I am always looking for ways to improve and expand for the following year. Please feel free to give your suggestions and ideas to us. Thank you all so much! See you next year! –Wayne Whited
