Rates effective 2/13/2012. The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is the actual cost of credit to the borrower, including interest and other charges. Interest rates are subject to change without notice and may vary depending upon your unique credit history and the transaction. A loan rate can only be locked in after receiving a completed loan application and signed lock agreement, some exceptions may be made. This statement of current home mortgage rates is not an offer to enter into an agreement for a loan at a specified interest rate or number of discount points or both. An offer to enter into such an agreement may only be made pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 47.206. *The rate assumes a 20% down payment. A down payment of less than 20% will require mortgage insurance and will increase the APR. www.stearnsbank.com

A total of $20,016.31 was raised by Bellringers in Pine City and Sandstone and from Salvation Army Counter Kettles throughout Pine County. Gift certificates for groceries totalling $4,000 were issued to needy families in Pine County from these Bell Ringing proceeds, with the assistance of Pine Community Food Shelf in Pine City, Family Pathways Food Shelf in Hinckley and Chris’ Food Center in Pine City and Sandstone. The balance of the money is sent to the Salvation Army Headquarters to form the basis for our budget for the following year to be available for use by the Pine County Salvation Army for emergency purposes. This help is given in many forms throughout the year which includes the issuance of vouchers for food, gas, lodging, summer camping, disaster services and other emergency needs of persons in Pine County. We would like to extend a special recognition to all the Bell Ringers in the Pine City area, including the Pine City Lions, Pine Area Lions, Pine City VFW, Pine City Fire Department and the Pine City Boy Scouts and many more who worked as Bell Ringers at Walmart and Chris’ Market in Pine City. We would also like to recognize Bob Thompson for his assistance and support in organizing the Pine City Lions Bell Ringers. A special recognition to all the Bell Ringers in Sandstone, including the Sandstone Lions, Sandstone Fire Department, Sandstone American Legion, Sandstone VFW, Disabled American Veterans, Today’s Promise, Boy Scouts of Hinckley, Leo’s and many more. We would also like to recognize Ron Nistler who was in charge of the Sandstone Bell Ringing Program and Dean Dronen for fundraising in Sandstone.

We further express our gratitude to Walmart and Chris’ Food Center in Pine City, Daggett’s and Chris’ Food Center in Sandstone for permitting us to have Bell Ringers at their place of business during the holiday season. We also express gratitude to the many Pine County merchants that permitted us to place Salvation Army Counter Kettles at their place of business. Once again, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the organizations and individuals for your support, commitment, and generous donations. The Pine County Salvation Army Chair, Marilyn Arnold

4-H After School

Recommend us to a friend. It could make a big difference for someone you know.

A place to learn, have fun, meet new friends and do crafts. If interested, pick up forms at the office of Fairview or Trailview, library, or extension office.

Help those you know get the tax expertise that could make a big difference for their return. Just send them our way. Because your friends shouldn’t have to accept anything short of getting everything they deserve.

Need not be a 4-H member to attend.

Are You Thinking About a New Home or Remodeling?

We meet Monday and Wednesday from 3-5 in the library basement.

ROY ROGERS PROGRAM SET FOR FEB. 26 Travel down memory lane with us as we reminisce about the life of the King of the Cowboys, Roy Rogers (and Trigger too!) presented by speaker Dale Blanshan. Dale Blanshan will be at the Kanabec History Center in Mora at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26. This is the first in a series of five programs presented by the East Central Regional Library in partnership with the Mora Public Library and the Kanabec County History Center. Watch for more information about the next upcoming program. This series is funded in part

or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage fund. FEB. 27: PARENTING AGAIN SUPPORT GROUP Parenting Again Support Group will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. at Fairview Elementary, 707 McLean St., Mora. Dinner, childcare with activities and good fellowship provided. For more information, call Sue at 763-898-6824 or Carrie at 320-679-6257.

ANNUAL ROCKATHON FUNDRAISER SET FOR FEB. 25 Rockathon chair person, Cory Stanchfield, is busy lining up teams and getting donations for this year’s annual event. Funds are raised through team sponsorship and team members getting pledges. The day of the event team members take turns rocking in rocking chairs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Most team members sign up for a two-hour block of time. There are breaks every hour to get up and stretch, have snacks and meet other rockers. The two rooms of the Coin School are set up for the rockers, with a room for games and a

quiet room for reading or crafts. The event raises about $2,000 each year. Teams can be sponsored for $100 and anyone can make a pledge in any amount. All donations are deductible and benefit the Kanabec History Center exhibits and programs. There is still time to sponsor a team; just give the Kanabec History Center a call at 320-6791665. Team sponsorships are only $100. And don’t worry if you can’t get a team together, Cory will help set up a team for your business or organization. Stop in at the Coin School, located at 805 West Forest Avenue in Mora, on Sat. Feb. 25.

Advertising Policies: The publisher is not liable for slight changes or typographical errors that do not diminish the value of the advertisement. The publisher's liability for any other error is limited to crediting the advertiser for the space occupied by the advertisement materially affected by the error. For example, if there is a word missing from a classified ad (garage sale item or descriptive word), no credit will be issued. Credit will not be given for more than one incorrect insertion unless the publisher is notified the same week the error occurs. All claims for adjustment must be communicated

to the publisher within 7 days of the first insertion. Failure to do so will result in forfeit of credit. Requests to place ads after the deadline nullifies all potential credit requests. Please check to make sure your advertisement is correct. If you made a change in your ad - in text and/or scheduling, please check to make sure it is corrected. If you have cancelled an ad, please check to make sure that the advertisement has been cancelled. We cannot guarantee placement of where your ad will be within your classification.
