Essential Duties: Performs intermediate skilled technical work enforcing the County’s land use regulations including zoning, shore land, solid waste and SSTS ordinances, maintaining the County’s GIS system and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Land and Resources manager.

• Performs daily administration of County Septic Systems Ordinance, including: septic system design review, installation inspections, issuing permits and compliance reports and maintaining records.

• Investigates complaints and ensures enforcement of county ordinances.

• Reviews building site permit applications and evaluates construction and land alterations for ordinance compliance. Assists with maintenance of the County GIS and database.

• Assists with Solid Waste program implementation: recycling, household hazardous waste and canister transfer stations(s).

• Assists County Aquatic Invasive Species Program and Noxious Weed Program as needed.

• Assists with the Board of Adjustment and Planning Commission, as needed and attends meetings as directed.

• Reviews petitions for environmental assessment worksheets and/or environmental impact statements.

• Monitors grant-funded programs and prepares necessary state reports to receive grants and funds for programs as needed.

JAGUAR PROUD Test Taking Strategies to Review With Your Child Dear Hinckley/Finlayson Families: As April approaches, so does our state testing of MCA’s (Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments) in grades 3rd-6th. Below you will find some test-taking strategies that you can review with your child. We all know that one test does not reflect a student’s true growth throughout the year, but this is an important test so we can identify strengths and weaknesses of your child. Our goal is to help and support your child in their challenges and successes.

Test-Taking Tips for Elementary Students The testing season is upon us. This is what you can do to help! Tests are important because they help the teacher evaluate a student’s needs and progress, the student gauge his or her own level of mastery, and the parent monitor his or her child’s progress.

Tips to give your child about taking tests: • Relax. Just do the best you can.

• Be aware of key words such as “all,” “now,” “always,” “never,” “only,” “exactly.”

• Watch for negative words like “not,” “no,” “never.”

• Look for information in some of the questions. This information may help you answer

other questions.

• You can assist your child prepare for testing by doing the following: • Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep before a test, and make sure your child eats properly the day of a test. ***We will be offering students a free breakfast on the day of their test*** • Maintain a pleasant home environment and avoid unnecessary conflicts. Try to make the morning of the test a pleasant one. Do not add to your child’s stress.

• Make sure your child has taken any needed medication.

• Get your child to school on time the day of the test.

• Remind your child the test is important. Encourage him/her to do his/her best.

• If your child is too ill to attend, please call the school office.

• Tell your child to attempt to answer all of the questions and not to leave any blank.

As winter gives way to spring, the sap starts flowing in the maple trees. That’s maple syrup time at the Audubon Center. Come join us for our annual Maple Syrup Day - a pancake brunch and hands-on maple syruping program. You will

learn which trees in the woods are maple trees, and the history and process of making maple syrup.

Then, help us tap some maple trees, collect and haul sap, and observe the sap being processed in to liquid gold maple syrup.

ATTENTION Mora Public Schools Spring Sports Parents: The Mora Spring Sports Parent Meeting scheduled for this past Monday, March 5 was canceled due to the weather. This meeting will not be rescheduled due to scheduling conflicts. All information will be handed out by the spring coaches.

Students need to make sure they have a current physical on file in the District Office along with their $30 fee (9th-12th graders need to pay the fee). Students also need to have the “pink” MSHSL form signed by themselves and a parent, this form should be handed in to the District Office. Mechanical ability is required and related experience is preferred Operator Supervisor: 3rd shift position (11pm – 7:30 am) responsible for the direct supervision of Press Operators and Lead Press Operators; includes planning and scheduling operators to presses to meet production requirements while ensuring the quality of their work. Proven leadership experience is preferred in a similar environment.
