All students new to the Mora District are asked to register on these days so they can receive individualized attention and have all their questions answered. Waiting until the Open House to register makes it difficult to get student records and information in time to start on the first day of school. If you would prefer to expedite your student’s registration process, enrollment forms are available on the school website (www.moraschools.org) under “Parents and Students” then “Student Registration Forms.” Parents/guardians, please be sure you accompany your new student(s) when registering as they can’t register without you. In addition, please provide the office with a copy of the student’s birth certificate as it is required by state law to show proof of age.

KEEP UP WITH THE TIMES Last week’s most read stories Below are last week’s most read stories on the Kanabec County Times website, www. MoraMinn.com. 1. Minnesota Woods and Wildlife — MN Department of Natural Resources: The abnormally dry to drought conditions occurring across Minnesota are creating challenging conditions for people trying to get their boats into or out of the water at public boat launches, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. 2. Teenager charged with arson after fires set during drought: A young man who told investigators lighting fires helps him relieve stress has been charged with multiple felony counts of arson after allegedly setting wildfires south of Ogilvie on July 21, not far from his home.
Music in the Park is sponsored by the City of Mora and its Park Board. No smoking allowed in Library Park. In the event of rain, performance may be relocated to the Mora Civic Center, 701 Union Street S, Mora. Relocations will be announced on www.ci.mora.mn.us. and on Facebook @cityofmora. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
3. Mora baseball field comes to an end with a Blue Devils victory: The Mora Blue Devils concluded the final chapter of their nameless baseball field with a 2-0 win over the Quamba Cubs on Sunday, July 18.
