TRAILVIEW SCHOOL COOKIE DOUGH FUNDRAISER Trailview School held it’s 9th annual Cookie Dough Fundraiser. Students in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 had the opportunity to sell frozen foods along with many other items. About 210 students participated and earned over $12,000 for the school. The fundraiser is coordinated through Trailview's Physical Education Department. On Friday, Oct. 28, students that sold 25 or more items were taken on a limo ride. The limo ride was provided by St. Cloud Limousine Services and was paid for by the Chip Shoppe Company (who coordinate the fundraiser). Top fundraisers made a stop at the Dairy Queen. Funds raised will go into the students’ incentive fund and will be used to purchase materials for the classroom, pay for lyceums, phy. ed./recess equipment, media supplies, and help with other student programs. Thank you to the volunteers who helped with distributing items to students.
Mora High School’s Spanish III and IV classes went on a field trip to the Ordway Oct. 27 to see Magos Herrera, a Mexican jazz musician and to the Mercado Central afterward, a Mexican mini-mall in downtown Minneapolis.

MORA BASEBALL
HALLOWEEN SCIENCE
On Sunday, Oct. 16 the Mora baseball program volunteered their time to help clean up at Box City held at the Cambridge fairgrounds. Box City is sponsored by New Pathways which serves Chisago,Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs and Pine counties. Box City is used as a fundraiser and to raise awareness of homelessness. It gives area residents the chance for one night to experience what it's like to be homeless. Mora baseball is proud to assist this fine cause.
Part II by Kelly Fenstad, Jess Olen and Jen Strande This year, Mora High School’s 9th, 10th, and 11th grade science classes were treated to a Science of Halloween show they’ll not soon forget! On Friday 10/28/11, Mr. Fenstad, Mrs. Olen, and Mrs. Strande spooked students with jokes, can crushing ghosts, and boo bubbles, as well as an exploding pumpkin. Demonstrated were concepts of acids and bases, air pressure, chemiluminescence, chemical reactions, polymers, and sublimation. It was a great program and plans are already in the works to make it bigger, louder, and spookier!!
Board Advisory Committee Membership: Anyone interested in serving on the Board Advisory Committee may contact Chris Hoyles in the District Office at (320) 6796200 for further information.

Minnesota law (Excellence in Education legislation, 1996) requires each school district to report annually to the public on what they have accomplished during the previous year to evaluate and improve instruction. In the Mora school district, this provides an excellent opportunity for community input into the local educational system through the Board Advisory Committee. As a committee, community members, school staff, and school board members address how educational issues impact our school. We work together to evaluate how students are taught (instruc-

THANK YOU The family of Sandy Cheney-Broehl would like to thank all of our friends, family and co-workers for the love, support and prayers offered to us at her untimely death. We appreciate all of the gifts offered. The memories share with us are priceless. The lunch given to our family at the visitation by our Grace friends, Mary B., Kathy M., Deb S., Betty S., Lydia F., Jacki P. and Julie and Julie from Wild Things was wonderful. All of the goodies brought to our houses were so much appreciated. Thank you also to Dar for being such a wonderful friend and sitting with Mom and holding her hand. It was so comforting knowing that she was well taken care of and loved by you. Thanks to Cathy and Craig on the ambulance crew, the ER Department at FirstLight and the staff at Abbott Northwestern for the awesome care that she received. The whole staff at Akkerman-Ingebrand was fabulous and caring. You gave us the attention and direction that we needed. The family at Grace Lutheran Church showed us just how much love was out there. We will never forget all of the friends and family that showed up to honor Mom’s memory. Thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough. She will be sadly missed by us all.
