SNG Services Gunsmithing & Tool Sharpening

SNG Services SNG Services is a gunsmith service, licensed firearms dealer, and full-service tool sharpening shop located just south of Mora, Minnesota. Owned and operated by Kanabec County resident Shawn Paul, SNG Services is a local company with a nationwide footprint.

• Repair and customization of firearms • Sale of new and used firearms • Consignment sales

One of a few full-time gunsmiths in Minnesota, Paul has worked in gunsmithing since the 1980s. He likens the workings of a firearm to those of a vehicle. You bring your car to a professional mechanic when the transmission needs to be rebuilt, he says; and when a firearm needs service or repair, you should seek out the same level of care and expertise. As an experienced firearms mechanic with more than 30 years’ experience, Paul provides a level of excellence that can’t be found many other places.

• Insurance appraisals • Sporting goods • Ammo sales • Hunting equipment and accessories

Paul has a nationwide reputation, and is often consulted by firearms professionals across the country to fix and solve problems. He raised his family in the Mora area, however, and is committed to serving the community long-term. He treats customers as friends, and shows the same care for their firearms that he does for his own. Paul values his reputation and guarantees his work, believing that “if it can’t be done right it shouldn’t be done at all.”

• Large in-shop inventory • Firearms transfers

SNG Services also provides tool-sharpening services. From drill bits to lawnmower blades to scissors and knives, Paul can hone just about anything with a blade. “I can sharpen everything but your wit!” he laughs. If you own a gun that hasn’t been fired in a while or needs repair, bring it to SNG Services for a full cleaning, inspection, and test fire.

• Pre- and post-season cleanings and safety checks • Full line of sharpening services for home & commercial users • All work guaranteed

Come in as a Customer... Leave as a Friend! Dedicated to Shooters and their Sport! Business Hours: Mon. - Fri. 8am-5:30pm, Sat. 8am-5pm

SpringImprovement Home Fix that unsightly hole in the wall inches larger than the hole. With a utility knife, score the front of the drywall, then snap it back and cut the back for a perfectly smooth-edged piece. Next, outline the piece over the hole in the wall with a pencil and then cut the existing drywall along the lines with a drywall saw. Screw two pieces of thin wood inside the hole at the top and bottom. Place the patch over the hole and screw it in, making sure the heads of each screw are below the surface for an even finish. Apply a square of drywall mesh, which is sticky on one side, over the patch. This will help bond the patch to the wall. You’re now ready to spackle, using a premixed wet drywall applied in three thin coats. Let it dry, sand it down and apply another two coats to make it nice and smooth.

SpringImprovement Home Workspace Wonders

Whether working from home or in a professional workplace setting, setting up an effective and organized workstation is easier than you think and it helps you be more productive and successful.

schedule it or toss it. Set up a filing system with pocket folders, trays or stacked bins. Put everything in an appropriate order and come up with your own system that keeps you on schedule.

ZONE OUT

MULTIPURPOSE YOUR SPACE

Think about all the things you might use in your office and give each their own area or “zone.” For example, an area for supplies, short or long-term projects, files, note writing, to-do lists and things that help you stay focused such as schedules or deadlines.

THINK OUTSIDE THE DESK

The traditional desk is a thing of the past. Instead, turn your office space into a cozy workspace with wall-mounted shelves, pin-up cork boards, curtains or folding screens, extra shelves, small storage containers, rolling cabinets, tool chests and plenty of storage.

MANAGE YOUR TIME EFFECTIVELY

Multi-tasking is usually not productive and actually prevents you from getting things done, and done with your best effort. Instead, focus on one project at a time and limit outside distractions.

GET RID OF THE PAPER MESS

Paper is the main thing that can clutter someone’s work space. Whatever lands on your desk, stack it, file it, scan & store it, act on it,

If you work at home, furniture can transform an office setting into a guest or media room. A wall-mounted TV or game table creates even more value to the setting. If you work in a professional office, adding furniture, file cabinets and seating space can turn even the smallest of spaces into a meeting room for multiple people.

PERSONALIZE YOUR SPACE Your office should always make you feel comfortable due to the amount of time you spend in a relatively small area. Spend some time decorating by adding things that might have nothing to do with work such as plants, jars, baskets, bins, and artwork or memorabilia.

CREATE A TRANSITION AREA Make it easy to obtain work-life balance by setting up an area in or near your office where you can get a mental break when necessary. A comfortable chair or lighting can be helpful.

Tackle those carpet stains Most carpet has stain and soil protection properties on the fiber, making spot and stain removal much easier. Different fibers handle stains differently so it’s always wise to consult a manufacturer’s warranty and specific care instructions. Know the basics • Pick up anything you can with a spoon • Blot liquids with a wet towel. Use another dry cloth to blot up moisture. That’s blot, don’t scrub. • Vacuum dried messes • If the stain doesn’t clear, use a small amount of cleaner on soiled area • Rinse your carpet with water after stain treatment

respond well to one tablespoon of ammonia and one cup of water • Alkaline stains like beer respond to one part vinegar and two parts water Eliminate pet messes – Use a detergent solution followed by either the same vinegar or ammonia solution described above if necessary. Do not use steam! Clean up oily or waxy messes – Use a dry-cleaning solvent that can break up the bond between oil or wax and your carpet’s fibers. Take on stubborn stains – Substances like blood, mustard and chocolate are particularly tough and may require several rounds of cleaning by blending ammonia and water.

Prevent dirt and grime buildRemove common food and drink up – Everyday dirt and dust that stains get ground into carpet fibers are • To clean most common stains common, but regular cleaning can such as coffee, soda pop or juice, help. It is recommended to vacuuse ¼ teaspoon of clear dishwash- um three to four times per week, ing liquid and one cup of warm depending on the traffic in your water home. Have your carpets deep • Acidic stains like tomato sauce cleaned every 12 to 18 months.
