There will be door prizes (need not be present to win) as well as cash prizes for fish caught during the tournament.

Fluegge's Ag is a family-run business in its 55th year of operation, selling and servicing farm material handling equipment. Fluegge's features a large selection of manure spreaders, mixers, hay rakes, and tedders, both new and used, and specializes in “service after the sale.” The store offers new, used, and rental equipment from more than 20 different vendors, as well as small engine repairs.

Fluegge's Ag was started in 1960

by Lud Fluegge, on his dairy farm in northern Kanabec County. The business moved to Brunswick in 1972 after the farm was sold. “My dad raised me on the back end of equipment he was putting together,” said son Rod, “since I was about seven years old.”

Rod started full-time with the family business in the spring of 1975, and in 1996 moved to the current location just east of Mora. He and five employees currently run the shop.

The business expanded from one product line to more than 20, and from a one-stall garage to more than 12,000 square feet of parts and service areas. Fluegge's offers inshop service, as well as on-the-farm equipment repairs. The store also features a large parts department that includes bearings, roller chains, and power take-off parts, just to name a few.

Fluegge's Ag also serves the needs of “non-farm” residential customers with a line of rototillers, brush cutters, and seeding equipment.

Customer satisfaction is their highest concern: as Rod stated, “We stand behind all our products – except for the manure spreaders!”

Over the years, Rod said, the business has expanded from working with herds of 20 dairy cattle to farms with 3,200 animals, and their primary focus these days is dairy and beef farm management. “We've been in the business for 55 years,” Rod said,

“and just added to the shop this year.

We started out as a farmstead service, working with implements that are serviced on site.

We expanded to work with equipment on wheels, that could be serviced either on Rod Fluegge, Owne r the farm or here at the shop. But we're unique in that we still offer on-the-farm service. We make house calls – or 'barn calls.'”

Choosing a wedding date wisely Many couples find themselves bombarded with questions the moment they become engaged, and perhaps no questions is more common than, “When is the wedding?”

Choosing a wedding date without giving it much consideration may make things more difficult down the road. Rather than jumping head first into any decisions, couples should give thought to any and all dates and decide if there are certain times of the year they want to tie the knot or avoid.

Season: Decide if you prefer the lush greenery of summer or the amazing color spectrum of an autumn afternoon. Perhaps you envision arriving at the ceremony with a snow-packed landscape amid twinkling holiday lights.

Month: Certain months may seem perfect, but not for busy professionals or those with limited vacation time at their disposal. You may need to plan around slow work times or vacation availability.

Holidays: Some people would like to tie their wedding day to a particular holiday. Holiday weddings produce significant obstacles. Guests may not want to travel or spend time away from their families to attend a holiday wedding. Having a wedding during a holiday may mean competing for vendors and reception spaces. Prices on everything from food to flowers to airline tickets could be higher as vendors cash in on customer demand.

Building your wedding budget More and more engaged couples are completely or partially financing their own nuptials. That means prospective brides and grooms must develop wedding budgets that won’t ensure their first act as Mr. and Mrs. is paying down debt.

Tips for Trimming the Guest List While guests make weddings more enjoyable, and may increase the propensity to enjoy a more successful marriage, couples must be practical and consider their wedding budgets when creating their guest lists. Couples who are finding it difficult to create and pare down their guest lists can employ the following tips. · Create initial lists. When jotting down potential guests’ names, write down everyone you want to invite, regardless of budget. Then list the musthave guests for the wedding. This should include the family and friends with whom you interact on a regular basis. Create a separate column for guests who don’t make the must-have list. · Separate friends from friends’ friends. If you don’t see people outside of events set up by mutual friends, you should not feel obligated to invite those people to the wedding. They are more likely friends of your friends and not your close friends. · Know the guest list ceiling. Catering halls or reception rooms often can only accommodate

a certain number of people. Know this number before making a final list. The limits of the space may serve as the catalyst for trimming the guest list. · Consider coworkers carefully. Think about whether you’d still be friends with your coworkers if the company dissolved tomorrow. If not, you should not feel obligated to invite them. · Have we met? If you don’t remember interacting with a person or the person has never met your significant other, then they probably can be cut. If parents insist on inviting someone you barely remember, they should help defray the costs. · Cut out the kids. Even though children’s dinner costs may be lower than adults’, inviting children can significantly increase the guest list.

A no-child policy at the reception can save money. · Avoid uncomfortable situations.
