Clyde Riverfront M.ARCH URBAN DESIGN THESIS River Clyde Waterfront Regeneration Project was a study of the post-industrial decline and subsequent suburbanization of Clyde. Running through the heart of Glasgow, the river battles with issues of under-use, abandonment and lack of an active public realm. These issues were investigated as a series of interrelated phenomena and the design strategy was based on stagewise solutions.

PLACES FOR PUBLIC - TO CREATE & ENJOY
Life & Art Campus B.ARCH DESIGN THESIS The project is an attempt at dialogue with the enormous & fast spreading Suburban developments admist the rural belt at the city fringes. An idea for community space is put forward with an intention of bridging the socio-economic gap between the surrounding rural and the city people. Developing a Community Core, the project is focused on reserving a part of the rapidly suburbanizing rural stretch of River Mahi for the public – inclusive, of activities desirable to a diverse group.

URBAN STRATEGY
ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPT
• Rethinking the urban-rural relationship from economic to social interaction • SUBURBAN SPREAD New residential developments, institutes and entertainment zones catering to in city public - create voids in the rural fabric. The development is also haphazard & disrespecting of the surrounding scale & architecture style. • Countering urban void creating suburban built with more cohesive infill developments • SOCIAL DIALOGUE BY ART Activities to involve, to create, to share, learn - to mix two social worlds. Also develop it into a place for development of ideas for the sensible growth of the area. • CITY WATER FRONTS ARE PUBLIC SPACES • RESERVE & DEVELOP OPEN SPACES • VISUAL CONNECTIVITY TO RIVER • ACCESSIBILITY • SAFETY • SELF SUSTAINANCE
ORGANIZATIONAL CONCEPT
FORM
Intersecting activity areas with movement - the idea of drifting into different learning zones.

Sursagar Chowk VADODARA CULTURE & HERITAGE HUB URBAN DESIGN STUDIO, 5TH YR Set in the core of cultural city of Vadodara in Gujarat, the project tackles Sursagar lake-front which is corrupted by non-conducive urban growth - built form & functions disrespecting both the public realm and the water.
NNECT Munshi’s Lane, Vadodara. The presence of water’s edge is negleted to the extent, that the only reminder is its foul smell.
Prevalent issues also include traffic-chaos, pollution, and unsafe and aesthetically poor public infrastructure.

Tracing the negative spaces of the existing built, the main built mass is designed to look as an old building renovated and under adaptive reuse as a base for an art installation. The footprint of the current lanes transform into to floor patterns, ceiling cubes installation as well as indoor lanes themselves during an exhibition.

Business Hotel URBAN BUILDING STUDIO, 4TH YR Located in a commercially rich context, the site is flanked by one of the busiest roads in the city, catering to multiple destinations of shopping, entertainment, theatre, mixed use office & commercial building and some very high-end residences. As a developing city, Baroda sees the need to have hospitality infrastructure to support its commercial growth. The design caters to the newer - urban built pattern of segregation, set-back from the streets & semi-porous edges, along with creating a well definied program for hosting business events as well as accompanying leisure amenities.

CONTEXT
FORM
The client was to be a retired old couple in their 60s. With their children settled elsewhere, the house was to be designed to accommodate the couple’s aging needs with a range of experiences and spaces that would give them diverse activities to pursue and enjoy each other’s company peacefully.
CLIENT CONCEPT: “CARE” A VARIETY OF AMBIANCES CONTEXT RESPONSIVE TRANSIT FRIENDLY SPACES NO STAIRS AMPLE LIGHT
Owing to a scenic natural river -front site, a non-building approach was taken by designing of a set of overlapping green curved roofs with spaces housed inside. From the south, it would merge into surrounding, disguising the building from approach road while the north opens up to the river to achieve maximum views.

The project attaches itself with the transformation process of Donnerskirchen in Burgenland, its growth from a market-town-village to a suburban style sleeping-community extension as a result of economic growth in nearby cities.
The theme was to design a Futuristic Media & Communications City Tower to commemorate the inauguration of the 2025 World Expo. Designed to be located in the off-shore vicinity of one of the financial hubs in Mumbai, a detailed program and extensive security as part of design, while being aesthetically iconic was the challenge.
• Reworking of the traditional long house hypology • Designed as mass customisable alternatives • Fixed width varying volumes for different family sizes. • Public-private interaction, an abundance of courtyards – internal as well as those shared with the public domain
