What to know about health and mountains Go feel the sun on your back and on your face. Go and see nature in it’s most raw beauty. The mountains are the perfect place to retreat on your next vacation, to commune with nature. Here are 10 reasons why you should consider vacationing in the mountains!
- Altitude Even visiting the mountains for less than one week can spike weight loss. High altitude also can decrease the appetite, making us feel more full. Colorado holds the nation’s lowest obesity rate at 19.8%
- low heart disease Altitude also can help lower risks of cardiovascular diseases. Reduced oxygen helps to create new pathways for blood vessels for oxygen to flow. You also have a lower risk of dying from ischemic heart disease.
- set news limits Going hiking, climbing, skiing, canoeing, or river rafting all require an adventurous side. When you are out there, you are constantly reminded of your strength. Even when you do feel that fear kicking in, setting new limits for yourself helps you discover new limits for yourself as you obtain each goal.
How to stay healthy? 5 little tips from someone who is not perfect, who sometimes eats fast food and who is not a nutritionist or doctor.
- Eat a balanced diet. Easier said than done. However, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. To do this, try to give priority to eating food (fruits and vegetables) in season. You can try to cook simple and quick dishes at home.
- Keep up a regular physical activity. It's not easy to want to do sport every day. That's OK. Maybe try setting small goals like walking 5,000 steps a day and then 10,000 steps a day. You can feel proud of yourself already. Walking is a very good way to stay fit.
- Avoid eating too much sugar. It's okay to eat sugar, it's essential because it gives you energy for the day. It's hard to avoid sugar, it's everywhere in varying amounts. However, it should be consumed in moderation. To avoid eating it all the time, you can try looking at the labels on certain foods. If sugar (it can be noted as: glucose; fructose; dextrose; fructose; sucrose) is listed as the first or second ingredient, it is probably high sugar.
- Sleep. Sleep is important! To be fit all day, you need to have a good night's sleep and it should be restorative. Not everyone is so lucky. Often what is recommended is to try to sleep at regular times. What may also work for some people is listening to music, a bedtime story or ASMR.
- Drink water. It helps to improve concentration and memory. It also facilitates intestinal transit, so it helps to fight constipation. Water keeps you fit and boosts your energy throughout the day. Doctors recommend 1.5 to 2 litres of water per day.
All this advice may be boring and sanctimonious. I totally agree with you. Everyone is aware of the need to be healthy and maintain a healthy lifestyle, we've all heard it enough. Everyone does what they can, at their own pace and according to their needs. Nevertheless, if you need help, do not hesitate to approach a health professional who will have all the necessary keys to help you get better.
Health in 2021 The world was turned upside down 2 years ago due to the covid19 pandemic. It disrupted many economics in the world. Made people lose hope as they started losing jobs and some even their lives.
But despite all of that people were mostly concerned about their health. It was without doubt their top priority.
People were also thankful for the tools that helped them defend against Covid-19 that posed a threat to their health. Such tools that were appreciates would be masks, hands sanitizers, face masks and many more !
But when there was a need for a permanent solution, the demand for a covid-19 vaccine was over the roof.
Healthcare companies gathered together, poured huge funds into research and development.
Therefore created the first few batches of the vaccine. They were successful in mitigating the entire situation caused by the pandemic.
This lead to a healthy and worry-free community where people could confidently continue with their daily activities as the fear of getting infected with covid slowly declined.
As time progressed people became even more educated about the covid-19 situation. They knew what to do and what not to do.
Although it brought out the true nature of some, good or bad, overall its has taught people how to handle situations if such were to unfold in the future.
The benefits of music on health Music therapy is prevalent in Greek mythology, philosophy and Native American culture. In our recent history, music therapy was a prominent resource during World War I and World War II. During these two historic wars, community musicians volunteered their time and played for veterans and the wounded in hospitals. Both patients and nurses noticed a difference in mood and experienced a positive emotional response to the music. They noted feeling an improvement in their outlook and felt less pain. The music was so well received that doctors began hiring musicians to play for soldiers.
Currently music therapy is enjoyed by children, teens and adults facing great feats in hospitals. One of the great aspects of music therapy is that it is individualized from patient to patient. This means that one child may find success learning a new instrument, while others may enjoy writing songs, singing or simply listening to music. Children especially have a strong interest in music therapy because it is not only fun for them, but it also provides mental and physical relief. Here are some health benefits to music therapy.
Having a gather with friends or strangers and just listen or play some music can be really helpful. It help in your mind and we know, a healthy mind in a healthy body. Enjoy music its enjoy life. Enjoy the moment. This moment in time is snap and we never forget a good moment with music.
Study of an Opioid Crisis The Opioid Epidemic in the United States of America
107 000. It’s the number of deaths due to the opioid epidemic in 2021. This epidemic refers to the boom in the use of opioids since the middle 2010’s.
In the US, since the XIXc, Opioids, such as morphine, are used in order to relieve the pain of the injured soldier during the American Civil War for instance. Firstly, almost prescribed systematically for any type of pain, they are then spreaded in the entire population. Despite of restrictives laws implemented by the US Government – such as the Harrison Narcotics Tax Act (1914) – this real War on Drugs (George H. W. Bush) seems insufficient to avoid the number of victims to skyrocket in the2010’s.
Nonetheless dangerous and lethal, how does the oipiods still be spreaded in the USA ? What are the consequences of this epidemic and above all how does the Government manage it ?
A tremendous conflict of interests : The Perdue Pharma gate In 1995, Perdue Pharma released OxyContin, an opioid used to remedy a wide type of pain. So as to commercialise its new product, this pharmaceutical group uses a major marketing campaign. Supported by some corrupted renowned scientists Perdue Pharma lies about the addiction caused by its medicine in order to convince the American authorities of the weak dangerousness of OxyContin. Rapidly, a black market was born. Even though an important fine in 2007 a new version of OxyContin was released in 2010. Less reachable, this new product incites the addicted consumers to consume other dangerous opioids. For instance 4/5 of the heroine consumers were addicted to OxyContin. Catastrophic consequences : In the US there are 650 000 medical prescriptions of opioids per day, more than 2 million addicted consumers and about 100 deaths a day. In 20 years 500 000 Americans died of overdose. A powerless Government ? We saw before the weak efficiency of the laws implemented which are easily bypassed thanks to corruption. Nowadays a lot of victims take legal action against those pharmaceutical groups and the ones responsible for this crisis.
In 2021 McKinsey & Company, the Perdue Pharma advisor, paid $573 million to some American States in order to stop the judicial proceedings. In the manner of 4 pharmaceutical groups – Johnson & Johnson, McKesson, Cardinal Health and AmerisourceBergen – which agreed to pay $26 billion to stop judicial proceedings, the profit made by selling opioids are much higher than the costs. Without onerous and impactful measures against the actors of this crisis and the implementation of further infrastructures to help the victims the opioid epidemic will spread more and more.
