Editorial “We are all travellers in the wilderness of this world and the best we can find on our travels is an honest friend” This is how our first EVS in KANE, Verena, starts a “thank you” letter I found digging up in my memories box. It is a quote by Robert Lewis Stevenson and reminds me every single time that I had to say goodbye to a person I met somewhere around this world. It also reminds me how lucky I am to meet all those people, from all these different cultures, with all these great ideas which are making the world move. Every person we meet in our life and we manage to connect, is a step forward towards our growth. Every experience is becoming part of our soul. The most of the times we need time to understand that. And an honest friend is always there. A friend whom you can meet once every 5 years (or even never again) but you still have this felling that something connects you with. Travel as much as you can. To an other country, to the next city, to a neighbourhood of your own city you’ve never been before. And then say goodbye and move on... with a smile because you are already more rich.
Dedicated to all goodbyes we had to say to honest people!

Documentary Night Fascism. The first documentary night at the terraza of the youth centre, brought intellectual people together to learn and share information about the rise and fall of fascism. The documentary ‘Fascism Inc.’ Shows the rise of fascism. Of course I want to recommend every one to search for this docu and see it for your self! Many people think that fascism started when Hitler became the leader of Germany, but that is not right, Fascism started in a small area in Milano in the time of Mussolini. Remarkable is that fascism and the political parties who embraced fascism searched for help at the industrial powers of a country. Big industrial companies with a lot of money and more important, with a lot of voters working in the companies where necessary to make fascism very big. Remember that most of those companies still operate those days.. The most important reason for the rise of fascism is the economical status of a country. In times of crisis people are in search of the “guilty one” and it is easy to blame a minority of a society.
Unfortunately a lot of people will believe this nonsense. While you read this, Greece is facing a huge crisis. Luckily we all see that the biggest problem for this are the banks and the governments. Of course we are also “guilty” but this time the minority is the one who is giving the orders. Let’s make a new type of fascism, let’s work together, black, white, yellow or green, together we need to deal with the consequences so let’s embrace and don’t think of the differences.

South Korea Hello everybody. Today i will speak about a country wich a love more and more: South Korea. First of all South Korea is a small country of Asia situate at he South of North Korea, on the Est of China and at the North Ouest of Japan. This small coutry has 48 955 203 habitant and 10 milion only in the Capital which is Seoul. You must ask yourself why i’m interest in this small country so far away? The first thing to know is that it’s been almost 8 years that i’m fond of Asian in general. It begin with manga, you the japan comic, but let’s not speak about it too much because who know it may be the subjet about my next article! My interest in this country began with drama: mix between a movie ahd a serie because each episode last 1 hour. To know the cinema is more and more watch by foreigners and have more festival about its abroad. I really love their movie and drama and particulary the romance one that i found kind of refreshing.
In fact they have that shyness that i think we can fond in the society of the real life. Compare to them we are open, really touchy and extravagant. High school girl for example , we hug, kiss each others, but for what i saw they are not this touchy and even less with boy, i think it’s a part of their mentality. With movie we learn how society is, like school. First, every student until university wear an uniform which is choose by the school. Like this every school have
a different one and become the caracteristic of the school. The school began in April and no september like us. Student can participate in school activity aferschool (they finish around 16h or 17h), what they call club: football, kendo, drawing,theater,..
The big Bear
They usually have two hours of club almost every day and someimes even in the morning. But don’t think that being in a group is an exit in order to not study, because it’s wrong, they are espect to be really serious about it, and third years usually stop all club to concentrate on studing for the exam. They are also student (a lot of them) who go to cram school in order to study again so a lo of student until midnight there have day of 15 hour of study. Studing is really importante for them and they think that haing godd grade and going to good school will be the key to the social ascension. Next, the food. We see different side of their foodhabit, like the breakfast. I don’t know for others country but for french the breakfast is sweet! Coffee, milk, tea, cereales, bread, cakes, biscuit, yogurts, jam, nutella, butter etc... Don’t worry we don’t eat all of this in the breakfast, it just an exampla of what can compose a franch breakfast. But for South KOrean it’s salty! Fish, rice, omelet, soup...When i see their meal i really want to try it, who wouldn’t want to try this once?
Sorry but not in the morning, i need my milk, bread and butter to be able to have energy in the morning. For lunch they prepare a bento ( lunch box) or buy somethings.
We can also see some traditional alcool, sweet or meal in general which are really spicy, to know South Korean people are the first eater or Garlic!

Korean mentality. I think i need to write about it becaus ei find it different from Occidental one. First the more reserve and shy part, the really studius and want of success, but also the respectful way they are toward each other. Occidental people call others by heir name but Korean on never except if it’s family or have a relationship with. They will say: if a girl speak to an older guy she will call him “oppa” if a girl speak to an older girl she will call her “unni” if it’s a boy speak to a older girl he will call her “nuna” if a oy speak to an older boy he will call him “hyung” This mean literally older brother or sister but it’s use for people not blood related. You have also “ahjussi” when you speak to a middle age man or “ahjooma” for a middle age woman, and if you speak to a person more experience in work or a senior from school you will say “sunbae” the same withold woman “Halmoni” and old man “Harabuhji”. It’s kind of put a distance between people, in contrast call by the name someone show a real intimaty. And to finish on something positive, music! I’m really found a the K-POP, for me the Korean language sound really nice and kind of poetic. I begin to listen o korean music with the drama. Usually when ou have a music you found nice in a movie you search for it after and in the end my phone is full of Korean music xd. Hope you enjoy this article and learn new thing about a intersting country!

Taratsa Party Summer has just arrived. The only thing that can keep you great company is a cold beer, a cool Tsipourito and for sure a good music. Those three ingredients played a huge role in our party at Youth Center’s terrace with a perfect weather under a clear sky full of stars on Saturday 14th June. It was an amazing party with rock music, from 60s and 70s, and plenty of good mood! Everybody was in the mood for a game of beer pong and we all had a lot of fun. Beer pong on the terrace is the best combination to ensure everybody has a great time. The party started at 9:30 and finished around 1:00 am. Of course the fun didn’t finished there, due to our coupons offered by Rodanthos Rock Bar for beers and the pitas at En Chiridio. I hope all of you have enjoyed the party. Our next Taratsa Party is getting ready, so stay tuned!!! See you there!

Our first impression Freshly arrived in Kalamata, Filaretos came and welcome us at the bus station. Firstly, he showed us the youth center and introduces people who were there. When we arrived at the youth center, we were hearing Music from downstairs. We were coming to the dance floor, the dance teacher took our hands and taught us some steps of latin music. It was a very nice welcoming! After a long travel, we were so hungry so Jelena brought us to a typical Greek restaurant nearby, it was the first meal in Greece. We really enjoyed that. Then, she showed us our house, five minutes walking from the center. We met others roommates and we introduced ourselves. We were surprised about people here are shaking hands whereas in France we’re kissing each other’s on the cheek. We were so happy to be here in Kalamata, we got many information the first evening then we were so tired and we went to sleep, our first night was really hot.
About our first impressions: When local people are driving, they don’t protect themselves, they don’t wear helmet. They drive with their family on the motorbike. Mostly, they don’t care about pedestrians and traffic signs. Even so, we cross the road very carefully. We are pleased about prices of food like Pitas, beers, cigarettes as well as, touristic visits, activities that we find it cheap compared to France. We find the city biggest and cutest than what we were thinking before coming, so it’s a good surprise !

Art for me Art is a form of human beings express their emotions and creativity, its history and its culture through some aesthetic values such as beauty, harmony, balance. Art can be represented in several ways, especially in music, sculpture, painting, cinema, dance, among others. for thousands of years, art has evolved and occupying an important place in society, given that some art representations are indispensable for many people today, such as the music, which is able to make us happy when we are sad. She works as a distraction to certain problems, a way to express what we feel to the various groups in society. But as art has no age and I, as a human being, I am also a work of art.

Friendship Without support, without parents, and only in this world, Joining forces, our hearts and our destinies; Weave, you and I united, authentic links: Build two a real and deep relationship. By trust, openness and loyalty, This brotherhood binds us and support us; A friend has for his friend to help him in life: That our two souls knotted can help themselves. We, together, let us brave our tomorrows, And to make sweeter our common misfortunes, Two wounded souls, qu’AmitiÊ not do that. Although not blood brothers, become hearts of brothers Share our joys and worries, and our worst pain: And that these shared moments become our fortune. Venus

Cleaning Divari Lagoon The Divari Lagoon is a natural reserve where the wetland can be divided into brackish lagoons and freshwater marshes. The main human activities are fishing, livestock- and arable-farming, tourism and hunting. This is an important site for wintering and passage home to 250 species of rare birds – among them flamingos, swans and mallards.
The long beach of Divari, 1km from Eleonas, has been renamed by locals “Golden beach” because of its beauty and its shallow crystal clear waters. Lying behind the nature reserve of Divari and spread out at the foot of the hill of Paleokastro (Old Castle), it’s an irresistible temptation during hot summer days.
Pluton
Divari beach separates the Ionian Sea from Gialova lagoon, where the magic mysteries of nature can be observed in its brackish waters. This narrow strip of land is the home of many species of wild flowers and also home of the rare African Chameleon.
The gorgeous beach of Voidokilia at a distance of 2 km from Eleonas is easily reached by car. Voidokilia is hidden behind sand dunes, which seem to be protecting its secret of magic beauty. Shaped like a giant Greek omega. It’s also because of the shape that this beach is called Voidokilia that means “Cow belly”. This beach of outstanding beauty lays beneath the Old Frankish castle (Paleokastro) and the cave of King Nestor, the ancient King of Pilos, who according to legend used this cave as a haven for his cattle.
Taking the path up from Voidokilia to the Old castle (Paleokastro) you will enjoy the wonderful panorama that unfolds in front of you: the lagoon of Gialova, the beach of Divari and the olive covered hills across the bay.
From Voidokilia beach you can pass onto the lagoon of Gialova through a natural path to observe the lagoon’s bird life, and the fascinating world of one of Europe’s most important wetlands. It’s in this amazing environment that a group of people from Kalamata Youth Centre and a group of very young boy scouts on the 6th June went there in order to clean what some disrespectful people had left along the street of this amazing nature reserve.
Uranus
From the previous description everybody can understand how important is to keep it clean. So we invite whoever wants to visit the Divari Lagoon to do it and really enjoy it, but, at the same time, to contribute to maintain it just doing something that is so simple: DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR TRASH IN THE NATURE RESERVE!

For the dressing, add the cherry tomatoes, mint and black pepper to a food processor (or use a hand blender) and pulse until smooth.
