The Lawrence Transit Center
Location: Lawrence, KS
Size:
34,000 SQFT
Category: Public Transit Hub
Our site is currently the parking lot on the corner of Vermont Street and 8th. It has served the the Lawrence community for many years as people flocked to the downtown area. With close proximity to Mass Street and the Lawrence Public Library, this corner sees a lot of foot and car traffic. Buses are also a common sight because they currently use the library as a hub for many of the routes that disperse around town. As many as seven buses will sit on Vermont Street at one time allowing for large amounts of people to get access to downtown. The buildings immediately surrounding the site are the shops and restraunts lining Mass Street and the adjacent buildings on Vermont Street. With so much parking in close proximity to the site, it is very logical to get better use out of our site. The proposed transit center will bring many positives to the site and add to the community overall by providing a hub to get to and from the downtown area.

Le Droit Apartments
Location: Washington
Size:
D.C.
~65,000 SQFT
Category:
Affordable Housing/ Mixed-Use
The Le Droit Apartments are a result of a master plan that adds affordable housing and mixed-use units to a neighborhood that is lacking in such. The site is located just north of downtown Washington D.C. and across the street from Howard University. Focusing on low-income and elderly tenants, the apartments will provide place that is welcoming and useful. I wanted to focus specifically on the low-income students of Howard since the lot is the closest to the university and the gateway into the rest of the project.
The main goal was create a place that anyone would love to live at and where people and businesses could prosper together. I also wanted to add as much green space to the project as possible in order to help mitigate runoff and provide a better quality of life for the residents.

Architecture in Asia Study Abroad
Location:
Singapore and Malaysia
Length:
3 Weeks
In my first experience outside of the country, I experienced some of the best architecture and buildings in the world. I have never been more inspired to continue my career in architecture than after this experience. Learning so much from the architects and buildings in real life is something that can not be replicated. Seeing how climate and government can have such a positive impact on architecture made me incredibly jealous, however I believe this experience will motivate me to inspire change wherever I go. I also am grateful I got to experience this trip with so many great people and professors. The trip would not have been the same without them.

huge part of the experience, this is some seafood pasta I had in Singapore. - The Gardens by the Bay in Singapore were something out of a science fiction opservation deck had the best view of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. - The Oasia Hotel in Singapore took green architecture to a different level.
From left to right bottom row: - The Changi Airport and Jewel were a pleasent sight arriving and leaving Singapore. - The Hive was definitley one of the most unique buildings in Malaysia and maybe in the world that I had ever been to. - The Star in Singapore had an incredible open-air atrium that was a perfect spot to eat some ice cream.
