Civic Sector of Euromaidan first Newsletter Dear Friends! Starting from today we begin the english language update about the peacefull protests movement calling to change the system in Ukraine. We are grassroots movement - the Civic Sector of Euromaidan, which grown during the protest movement and united in one team the most prominent people. We would like international community, friends of Ukraine to stay in close contact with the people of Ukraine who are struggling for their freedom and European choice. Peacefull protests near the Preidents and Prime Minister’s housing the new form of car protest December 29: a car convoy of more than 1000 cars went to pay a visit to the residences of the President Yanukovych, Prime-Minister Azarov and leader of the pro-Russian "Ukrainian choice" movement Medvedchuk. Andriy Parubiy, the commandant of the tent camp at Maidan said: "We are going by cars and bicycles to Yanukovych to show him that we are here and he has to listen to our demands, which are the following: to punish those responsible for Euromaindan crackdown, to release all political prisoners and to remove the governmen”.

The rally began on Independance square under the banner “Solidarity against Terror”. It was the personal warning action “We’ve come to say that if they don’t meet our demands, then our Sunday excursion will turn into a permanent round and we will invite all Ukraine here” commented one of the protestors. The police initially blocked the road to Mezhyhirya, however backed down and eventually cars got to around 300 metres away from the gates, from where they called on Yanukovych to come out and talk to the people.

Peacefull car protest The cars moving to Yanikovich residence made 10 kilometers of trafic jams. From 1000 to 4000 cars took part in the protest.

Manifesto of the Maidan the demands and action plan December 29: the participants of the People's Council at Maidan approved the Manifesto with clear short- and long- term goals of the movement. The activists want the resignation and prosecution of high-ranking officials, including Minister of Interior Zakharchenko, elimination of a Special Forces unit "Berkut" and a ban on the use of servicemen in the interior troops to forcefully counter peaceful mass protests.

In the medium-term perspective, the plan includes the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union, introduction of visa-free entrance to the EU and the prevention of Ukraine being involved in the Customs Union or the Eurasian Union. Read more at http://goo.gl/25TSrc.

Remmember 30/11/13 one months sinse bloody “Berkut” attack on peacefull protestors December 30: one months has passed since the bloody crackdown of the peaceful protesters at #EuroMaidan at the Independence Square in Kyiv. On this day Civic Sector of Euromaidan activists came to the lines of riot police blocking the street in the central Kyiv holding mirrors. The symbolic action was aimed to demonstrate that the aggression and violence from the police is being reflected back to them, while the peace and love will also be returned to their hearts!

We will NOT FORGET 30/11 A number of activists of the Civic Sector of Euromaidan went to the streets of their cities with banners “1 months of bloody events”, “Don’t be afraid. Tommorow million of people will stand for you”.

THE CIVIC SECTOR OF EUROMAIDAN PART OF THE TEAM

The Civic Sector of Euromaidan: overwiev Is the grasroots movement, which started on November 30, after the bloody beating of peacefull protestors. Territorial — its the place where Euromaidan starts, the place which united people continues to do so. The place where since 21 November 2013 a new Ukrainian history is being created. The place which enables Ukraine's progress towards the European community. A functioning information centre which provides any possible assistance to the protesters — with accommodation (abou 1000 people daily), food, receiving and distributing warm clothes, volunteer registration (200-500 volunteers daily). At our base locations - Expocentre at Nyvky and Patriarch Cathedral of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church - every evening we deliver trainings for the protesters who stay there. We analyse the events of the day, teach how to lead a nonviolent resistance activities and share our skills Human — a team which from the very beginning has been actively involved in Euromaidan. It is an informal grouping of people who have extensive experience of organisational and intellectual activities and are capable of achieving tangible results. We were involved in designing and implementing reforms in education, local self-governance, access to public information (archives); introducing egovernance in the cities; promoting public health issues and advocacy at the Parliament level; protecting against illegal construction. We possess working experience in business and in public service. Our coordination centre is managed by 30 persons who work as volunteers. In our daily activities we are assisted by additional 80 volunteers who participate in our daily coordination meetings. Over 2000 volunteers everyday are involved in the peacefull protest. In the next Newsletter we will inform you about our actions and vision for protest movement development.
