DIAMONDS UNLEASHED by Kara Ross and SoJo® teamed up to launch a socially-minded children’s wear collection made by women in the South African Townships of Bonteheuwel and Hout Bay. Through this collaboration, DIAMONDS UNLEASHED is supporting sixty-four local South African women who are given a retail platform for the beautiful children’s pieces made from Shweshwe, a traditional South African fabric. Every outfit in the DIAMONDS UNLEASHED x SoJo® Collection is paired with a perfect companion for its tiny wearer, a small hand- crocheted mouse named DIAMOND the Pocket Mouse who lives in the pocket of each garment. These hand-crocheted mice are made in collaboration with the Peta Becker Projekt, a skills training initiative based in the South African township of Hout Bay that creates accessories from crocheted fine cotton.
