motorcycle concept art for the 21st century
yamaha gts1000
fairing
The aerodynamic upper cowl once lived on a Yamaha scooter
front swingarm
Uses the original GTS RADD suspension design and emplys a bigger front disc and Brembo caliper
styling
With cues from other models in the Yamaha range, the GTS is a modernday sports cruiser
tail unit
Sleek, minimal bodywork, the seat unit has its own shock absorbers for maximum comfort
engine
Powered by a 180bhp R1 engine, the emphasis is shifted towards increased torque over outright horsepower
rear swingarm Based on the R1 unit, this alloy swingarm features additional bracing to aid strength and rigidity
kawasaki zx-7rr
frame
The trellis frame aids cooling and allows better access to parts of the engine
750cc
Unlike other H2 models in teh Kawasaki range, this is a sleeved-down 750cc version
swingarm
While the H2 model range uses a single-sided design, this version is in style with the original ZX-7R and uses the more traditional doublesided swingarm
fairing
The face of the ZX-7RR is exactly in line with the original ZX-7R, widely acknowledged as one of the most beautiful sportsbikes to come out of Japan
ram air
The H2R is in a higher state of tune than the cooking H2, and part of that comes from the dual air intakes, as featured here, either side of the headlamps
engine
Comes from the inlinefour supercharged stable. Although a smaller capacity, it still makes 175bhp due to the supercharger
suzuki gsx-r 1100 water-cooled
chassis
This GSX-R features a period alloy beam frame, and a banana-esque swingarm for those 80s vibes. The 3-spoke wheels might look retro but they feature thinner spokes to reduce weight. Radial brakes and Showa Big Piston Forks live at the front and keep things under control.
engine
Based on Suzuki’s greatest four-cylinder engine in modern times, the 2005/2006 inlinefour from the GSX-R1000 kicks out 165bhp as standard with a bulging midrange curve for useability. With small tweaks that figure can easily be increased to a reliable 180bhp at the rear wheel.
styling
The slabside-era of GSX-R has a cult following, and for good reason. The fusion of a 2000s engine and Slabbie lines is a perfect match for this neo retro sportsbike.
suzuki gsx-r 1100 air-cooled
chassis
Steel tube frames have a classic purity: you can easily see how it all hangs together with this example of the cradle frame. A box-section allow swingarm adds control and stability while the twin rear shocks fit the muscular style for this endurance-flavoured sportsbike
engine
Using the SACS oil and aircooled from 2006’s biggest Bandit, this GSX-R has the show to match the go. No radiator means we get to see the downpipes in all their glory .
styling
FOr that classic endurance racer look, no mid-sectionn or bellypan is needed, but the twin LED headlights reduce weight while not skimping on candle power for those 24-hour day and night stints.
