a market which longed for unique, quality pieces made by a local designer. She has taught herself the craft, and explores natural materials and processes to refine her 'peace-is'. Peace-is of Bianca is a lifestyle brand that seeks to leverage their range of products to achieve a positive social, cultural and environmental impact by approaching the design and production of the brand’s jewellery, from a holistic point. Bianca Bartley can be best described as ‘enlightened’ - ‘defying conventionality’ as her tag promotes - with her prolific expressions of individuality. Peace-Is of Bianca is where abstract meets organic, giving birth to a fusion of copper, silver, gold, intertwined with semi-precious metals and stones, and a variety of raw materials. Her line is very much in the ethos of “living green”, inspired by nature and her moods. In her new collection STONED Bianca executes her peace-is using some of the most beautiful semi-precious stones, which we can now comfortably say is her signature for this season!

Showcase KEIDA
A
rtistic songstress and dancehall artist Makeida Beckford popularly known as "Keida" has remained consistent from her first successful debut single "Jamaican Boy" which became popular both locally and internationally receiving over 300, 000 views on YouTube to date. "Hot Ash", one of her recent releases, and "Ganja Tea", which is also receiving its own accolade, has positioned Keida amongst the trendsetters in the music fraternity, as both singles have showcased her flexibility and eccentric style. With her seemingly "uptown looks" and her evidently down to earth attitude, Keida has successfully used those two attributes to develop brand Keida. Born and raised in a coastal community in Bull Bay, Keida learned from very early the importance of staying true to one self and to always follow your dreams. She alluded to this fact in an interview with Karee Kuorum Magazine where she outlined that her experiences motivate the type of music she produces. " It is my life experiences that allow and motivate me to put out good vibes and positive music". Keida said. Her first single "Jamaican Boy" created waves in the music industry, as it connected music lovers from varied background. Going through selective YouTube comments, It was evident that her distinctive style was far from mediocre, and she became an
instant hit with the online community. Some of the comments state: "This is so unlike anything I have heard in a while". " This is Reggae...Nice Jam girl!. "We need more songs like these from the ladies of dancehall". When asked what separates her from other females in the Jamaican Music Industry, the free spirited artist quoted, " I would say my individuality; my personality is my very own, and I always try to stay flexible where my music is concerned"; a definite trendsetter in Jamaica's Music Industry. On a lighter note, Keida lightheartedly shared why to many she is misconstrued for being "uptown". Far from "uptown" she said. " I think the misconception comes more when persons hear my music and when they finally put a face to it" she joked. Interestingly, "Ganja Tea" and "Hot Ash which are quite risquÊ based on their lyrical content, have portrayed a different side of Keida which once again speaks to her flexibility. When asked if she was a herbalist, she jokingly declared " Ganja is only one of the many herbs that possess healing qualities" and diplomatically left it there. Keida Weeda, her alias name as a child, has no reference to her single "Ganja Tea" she said. Her sisters gave the alias to her. Is Keida taken? Well, we can't say. But she did share her views on dating within the music industry. KareeKuorum
" I don't think a person should choose who to love; so if a person I love happens to do music I would have to work with it even though I know how demanding the industry can be. I would however prefer if they did something else just to be able to have an escape from that life when it becomes necessary". Beautifully said Keida! Keida credits her success to her team who consists of close friends and family members who happen to be like-minded and creative. " My team consists of close friends and family of extremely creative people, and with them, all things are possible". Makeida Beckford continues to work assiduously to hone and promote her music and her distinctive style. From the words of Keida, " I am motivated to put out good vibes and positive music". Karee Kuorum Magazine wishes Keida all the best and looks forward to more positive music in the near future! -Kemmone Hall
