Experience De Ma Fille Bridal I’m Megan Galloway, and I’m the owner of De Ma Fille. I have always loved bridal fashion. I used to buy bridal magazines just to look at all the pretty gowns and pick out what I would wear. After I graduated from Tarleton State University, I became trained to be a wedding planner through the American Association of Certified Wedding Planners. Something just seemed to be missing, however, and for some reason I was not yet ready to start a wedding planning business. I started applying to bridal boutiques and I received a job at De Ma Fille Bridal as a manager. Right away, I knew this is what I was meant to do! I loved the experience of helping ladies find their perfect wedding gown. In August 2011, I took ownership of De Ma Fille Bridal and made it my own. De Ma Fille is loosely interpreted as “for my daughter” in French. We are a Martina Li ana: style 437 Esse n se o f A ustrali a: st y l e 1425

shabby chic, French style bridal boutique. We want to make you feel warm, comfortable and invited. This is an experience you should never forget! It should be easy, fun and enjoyable. We allow our brides and their family to go through all of our dresses. It is our goal to get to know our bride and what she is looking for in order to help her with choosing a gown, as well as her finding new styles she might like. We know it’s very important to touch, feel and remember the gowns; that’s why we are one of the few boutiques who allow pictures! When our brides finally say YES to their dress, we like to serve them champagne to celebrate the monumental moment and take pictures of them toasting. We are a smaller boutique, but that serves us better so we can focus on our brides without the overwhelming atmosphere of a large chain store. We have, at most, only 2 appointments going on at the same time so each bride feels like we are all hers! We prefer appointments so the bride has a personal consultant; however, we are happy for walk-ins to come in and look around. If we don’t have an appointment at that time, then we can take care of you immediately. De Ma Fille has been featured on Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, and The Wedding Chicks. We have received Best of the Knot in previous years and Wedding Wire’s Bride’s Choice in 2013!

Although you may think it is just a cake – your wedding cake will, in fact, be the centre piece of your wedding reception. The eyes of all your guests will automatically rivet to the layers of cream, frosting and sugar with which you will cap the evening by cutting for all to share. So, when you are choosing your wedding cake, you have to make sure that it not only matches the style and theme of your wedding and reception, but that it is a proper reflection of you as a couple. Choosing a wedding cake is probably one of the most enjoyable things about wedding planning, but it can take time to find just the right cake and just the right person to create it. Here are some important things to consider when choosing your cake.

When is your wedding? The date and location of your wedding is crucial when choosing the cake. For example if you plan on having your wedding in the summer at a hot location, things like mousse, or even ice cream cake might be out of the question Ask your baker what types of cake are in “season.”

How big will the cake be? Wedding cakes can come in all shapes and sizes. Traditional cakes which have several tiers are normally a great choice, and one your guests will remember. Your cake consultant will know what size of cake is needed feed all of the people at your reception.

What’s your flavor? Depending on the style of the cake, you have many different options. If the cake is multiple tiers, many couples are choosing to have several different kinds of cake. Each level can be different, offering something for everyone. Although traditional flavors are still popular, many couples want a unique taste to their wedding cake.
