DOOR RE-PROPOSAL

Exisiting door Located as a separator of the balcony and the living room, this existing three leaf glass sliding door with aluminium frame in paint finish has some weakness in the current situation. Which is why we are to propose a new type of door and finishes that will more suitable for an outdoor product. The proposed door are multipoint folding door with aluminium frame in powder coat finish. By providing a folding door, will allow the user to see towards balcony without any obstacles or distraction, for example as in the current situation, the third door prevent the user to see clearly through the balcony. For the finishes, we proposed a powder coat finishes for the aluminium frame. Powder coating provides better performance than wet paint. It is more resistant to chipping, scratching, and other wear because of the thermal bonding it undergoes during curing, and because it can be applied in much thicker layers. This performance is especially important for outdoor products

REFLECTION Throughout this module

All in all,I had a great and challenging experience throughout this detailing and working drawings module. I learnt different materials and technique that can be applied based on the space ambience and needs. Not only that, by learning working drawings, I realized how important it is to pay attention to details as it will make a huge different to the outcome.

With the guidance of my lecturers, Ms

Haizah and Ms Norji, I was able to identify my weakness point that needed improvement which can guide me to produce a better outcome of the projects given.
