The Macomb Children’s Chorus The Macomb Children’s Chorus is comprised of three choirs: Junior, Senior, Troubadours. The intent of the Children’s Chorus is to enhance and expand upon the musical opportunities that the children receive in their school and church choirs by providing additional instruction and experiences. Rehearsals emphasize the development of musicianship and vocal technique. MCCC Prelude MCCC Prelude was started in 2012 to enable the young singers in the Monroe Area to have a quality music program that was above and beyond the school music programs. Monroe County Community College graciously supported the decision to begin the chorale which is made up of fifth through eighth grade students. Our mission statement is : “to educate and inspire children to understand and value the art of singing and its lifelong impact on teamwork, dedication and the human spirit.” We have also been supported with scholarship money from United Way of Monroe, Kiwanis, we have received a foundation grants from MCCC to cover music and scholarships. Our choir has performed with The John Tyner Chorale, and Carillon Women’s Chorale, Chariscurro Men’s Chorale, and the St. Paul’s United Methodist Praise Ringers. In May of 2014 the choir won first place and a Superior rating from Festival in the Parks at Cedar Point.
