On the heritage aspect, Museum of Pottery is proposed to strengthen the link with the Castle as well as with Swansea’s history as a pottery-making town. The Castle wall ruins are integrated with the additional buildings: the museum, a tea room and a souvenir shop.

In this project, the pedestrian flows become the design starting point, creating indoor and outdoor journeys. This proposal also works well with the sloping terrain. To boost the creative industry, a proportion of landuse is allocated specifically for business, studios and workshops for artists and art students, thus contributing to Swansea’s art and economic growths.

• Nolli plan analysis: to explore the complexity of the secular and religious layers in the mosque due to the varied users (Muslims and Non-Muslims). • The open space is not strongly associated with the mosque due to its usage as carpark. • The mosque as a foreign object because of the absence of relationship between the mosque and its open space. • The religiousness of the structure is not generated from the journey of approaching the structure. • The change between secular and religious transpires in a quite drastic manner. diagram of secular-religious layers

In order to design an open space associated with the mosque in the UK context, several elements might be considered: the sense of enclosure, the allocation of religious and secular layers in the mosque, the visual and movement axis towards the mosque, the importance of transitional space and interfaces, and the multifunctionality of the space within the mosque. 3: Solid & Void In short, the mosque in the UK possesses a role that could be beneficial for both its community and neighbourhood. This can be pursued without neglecting its spirituality, which is generated from the overall journey experienced by the users.

This project is a mixed use development, comprises of residential, business, retails and art-cultural centre located in the City of London. Planning concepts promotes the notion of reclaiming a high quality public area enclosed by multi-functional spaces. Design with nature and context can be regarded as the guideline of this proposed scheme, creating a development that is not only beneficial for its users but also towards larger regions. There is a range of housing types in the project. The northen part of the site is allocated for the affordable housing, while the southern part is the standard type. The public activity area is marked by the Art Centre, located in the middle of the site. This is to avoid the public-private compund conflict.
