mandir is a community space that celebrates religious minorities in getting the clients perspective...... a final visualization to help the client understand the form and spaces..... umea, sweden.inspired by the “aum “ of jainism, sikhism and budhism, this space is divided into a prayer hall and a community hall by a central path that leads to a pradakshina patha around a half submerged buddha.the structure is designed to blend into the swedish landscape differently in summer and winter. alas! mandir is born which blends seamelessly into the swedish landscape. the needs and wants of each community has been encorporated within the design.inspired by the aum, the crescent form mirrors the shoreline of the lake.
